Jenny Slate has broken her silence regarding the ongoing legal battle between her It Ends With Us co-star Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni. The actress publicly supported Lively, who recently filed a lawsuit against Baldoni accusing him of sexual harassment and creating a toxic work environment during the production of their film. Baldoni, who also directed and acted in the movie, has vehemently denied the allegations.

Lively’s complaint, filed with the California Civil Rights Department on December 20, claims that Baldoni led a smear campaign against her in retaliation for raising concerns about his behavior on set. The suit alleges that Baldoni enlisted the help of publicist Jennifer Abel and crisis PR expert Melissa Nathan, both of whom have denied orchestrating any such campaign.

In response to the lawsuit, several figures close to the film have come forward to support Blake Lively, including Colleen Hoover, author of the novel on which the movie is based, and co-star Brandon Sklenar. Jenny Slate, who played Baldoni’s character’s sister in the adaptation, joined the chorus with a heartfelt statement shared on The Today Show.

“As Blake Lively’s castmate and friend, I voice my support as she takes action against those reported to have planned and carried out an attack on her reputation,” Slate stated. “Blake is a leader, loyal friend, and a trusted source of emotional support for me and so many who know and love her. What has been revealed about the attack on Blake is terribly dark, disturbing, and wholly threatening. I commend my friend, I admire her bravery, and I stand by her side.”

Brandon Sklenar, who plays Lively’s character’s first love in the film, also defended her, urging fans via Instagram to read the legal complaint. “For the love of God, read this,” he wrote, tagging Lively with a heart emoji. Sklenar previously addressed online negativity surrounding the movie, asking fans not to vilify the women involved in its creation.

Hoover expressed her admiration for Lively shortly after the lawsuit’s filing, sharing a photo from their promotional tour and praising her honesty and kindness. Additionally, several celebrities, including Lively’s Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants co-stars, Paul Feig, Amber Heard, and Amy Schumer, have rallied behind the actress.

The controversy has sparked widespread discussion, with supporters highlighting Lively’s courage in speaking out and condemning the alleged mistreatment she endured. As the legal battle unfolds, the solidarity of her colleagues and friends underscores the importance of addressing toxic work environments and supporting victims of harassment.
