BLACKPINK Lisa’s ‘MONEY’ Has Now Become The Most-streamed K-pop Solo Song In Spotify History

BLACKPINK Lisa’s Money has become the most-streamed song on Spotify by a K-pop soloist. As of January 30, it exceeded over 351 million streams. Released in November, it became a massive global hit in a short span of 3 months.

BLACKPINK Lisa’s Money Makes history

Lalisa Manobal, the South Korea-based Thai rapper, singer, and dancer has been a new face in the K-pop industry. Better known by the stage name, Lisa, she is a part of the South Korean girl group BLACKPINK. In September 2021, Lisa made her debut in the K-pop industry with her album Lalisa. Her song Money is a B-side song from her debutant album Lalisa.

In January, over 5,00,000 units of Lisa’s Money were sold in the United States. This is the first K-pop song by a female K-pop artist that is making such a milestone. With more than 351 million streams, it is also the most-streamed debut in K-pop history. In addition, no other K-pop solo song has made such a record on Spotify. The song broke Jennie’s record of 350 million streams.

BLACKPINK Lisa’s MONEY, even though it is a B-side, has been receiving huge support from fans worldwide since its release last September. On January 29, ‘MONEY’ surpassed 44 million streams on Spotify, becoming the most-streamed K-pop song in 2022. This song led to the #moneychallenge which is doing rounds on every social media platform.

BLACKPINK Lisa’s makes new records on YouTube and Shazam

More than 50 million people have viewed this video, making it the most-watched video by a K-pop artist on YouTube. Also, BLACKPINK Lisa just achieved the feat of becoming the fastest K-pop solo artist in history to reach 600 million streams on Spotify across all credits.

Along with setting a new Spotify record, BLACKPINK Lisa’s MONEY has also set a new Shazam milestone. On January 27, Lisa’s MONEY surpassed BLACKPINK’s How You Like That to become the most-shamed song by a female K-pop artist. It surpassed 2.48 million shazams on January 27.

The song went on to grab the following titles previously – ‘fastest K-pop debut song to reach 10 million streams,’ ‘sixth most-streamed K-pop female song’ and ’15th most-streamed K-pop song’ on Spotify.
