Billy Ray Cyrus Seeks Restraining Order Against Firerose Amid Annulment Battle
3 min readCountry music star Billy Ray Cyrus’s ongoing divorce saga has taken a contentious turn, with the “Achy Breaky Heart” singer now pursuing a temporary restraining order (TRO) against his estranged wife, Firerose. This development comes just days after Cyrus filed for an annulment of their brief marriage.
According to documents obtained by In Touch, the 62-year-old artist has requested a TRO following allegations that Firerose made unauthorized charges to his business American Express card. This legal move follows closely on the heels of Cyrus’s petition to dissolve their marriage, which cites “fraud” and “improper marital conduct” as the grounds for the annulment. The court has mandated that Firerose vacate Cyrus’s residence by the afternoon of May 24.

As part of their separation agreement, Billy Ray Cyrus has committed to providing Firerose, an Australian singer, with a monthly payment of $5,000 for three months or until the finalization of their divorce. However, the financial discord between the two has escalated, prompting Cyrus to ask the court to intervene and prevent Firerose from further using his credit cards. He has also demanded reimbursement for the expenses she allegedly incurred without his consent.
The court documents reveal that Billy Ray Cyrus discovered Firerose made 37 unauthorized transactions using his credit card between May 23 and June 7, despite their temporary support agreement. These charges include several flight bookings and Venmo payments. Notably, Firerose is accused of making a $10,000 payment to the United States Treasury and a $50,000 payment to a law firm.
In his latest court filing, Billy Ray Cyrus elaborates on the specifics of these charges, highlighting that Firerose allegedly hired a law firm which later returned $45,000 of the sum she initially paid them. Furthermore, Cyrus expressed doubts about Firerose’s travel claims, stating he doesn’t believe she used the flights purchased with his credit card, suspecting instead that she canceled them to secure future flight credits with Delta Airlines.
Given these allegations, Cyrus is urging the court to grant his emergency motion to restrict Firerose’s access to his financial accounts and to mandate that she repay any funds that are not covered by American Express. The outcome of this legal dispute remains to be seen, but it is clear that the dissolution of their marriage is far from amicable.
As this high-profile divorce unfolds, both parties are bracing for a prolonged legal battle. For now, Billy Ray Cyrus remains focused on protecting his financial interests and ensuring that the separation from Firerose proceeds as smoothly as possible under the contentious circumstances.
