Billie Lourd is clearing the air concerning her late mother Carrie Fisher’s upcoming legacy celebration. Carrie Fisher’s daughter confirmed on May 3 that she intentionally left out her mom’s siblings, Todd, Joely, and Tricia Leigh Fisher, from her mom’s Hollywood Walk of Fame induction ceremony on May 4. According to Billie, 30, in a statement obtained by E! News, I didn’t invite them to the ceremony. That’s why they know. Billie’s aunts stated on Instagram on May 3 that Billie has chosen not to engage us in this magnificent moment concerning our sister’s career.

Todd complained on TMZ that he was left out of the ceremony, which he found “truly hurtful.” In response, Billie released a statement. It appears my mother’s brother and sister have posted and issued press releases, she said. Please accept my sincere apology for feeling compelled to openly defend myself against these members of my family. Unfortunately, I must publicly respond to their attack because they publicly attacked me. Considering her family’s alleged behaviour following Carrie’s death and Debbie Reynolds’ death after Carrie died, her decision was deliberate, she said.

Billie Lourd Slams Carrie Fisher’s Siblings For Taking Advantage Of The Actress’ Death

Billie Lourd is criticizing her late mother Carrie Fisher’s siblings for capitalizing on her loss. They include Todd, Joely and Tricia Leigh Fisher. The “Booksmart” star explained to Variety Wednesday that the brother and sister of my mother chose to express their grief publicly and capitalize on my mom’s death by doing several interviews and the sale of individual books centred around the demise of my mother and grandmother. Through the press, I learned of their actions. It was never discussed with me or considered how it would affect our relationship. Her mother’s relationship with her family was also very complicated, according to Billie Lourd, 30. The actions they took at the most critical point in my life were very hurtful to me, she said, even though they have every right to do whatever they want. It was and still is my choice to deal with her loss in a very different way. Following a heart attack that left her in a coma, Carrie Fisher passed away in December 2016. Todd Lourd, 65, reminisced about his late sister three years after she passed away, wondering why Billie didn’t attend the LA premiere of “The Rise of Skywalker,” which utilized unused footage from her 2015 movie, The Force Awakens.

A director told the Post in December 2019 that it was hard to watch his sister die again. That wasn’t something [Billie] wanted to go through. The best thing for her is to do what she feels is right. In the midst of so many people, what good does it do for her to come here and fall apart? Is that something you would subject yourself to? That was not something [Billie] wanted to experience. The best thing for her is to do what she feels is right. Also shared was a cryptic note Todd claimed Carrie once wrote, which stated, I am dead. How are you? See you soon. I’d call and tell you how it’s going, but there’s no reception up here.’ Then it says, Cut. A new scene, a new setup, a new heavenly location. I have finally gotten the part I have been practising for my whole life. The part was given to me by God. I am at the end of the road I have been travelling on my entire life. It just blew my mind, Todd said of the letter. Wow, why am I just discovering this now? On Thursday, Carrie Fisher will be honored on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and Lourd confirmed that her mother’s siblings will not be invited.
