According to Page Six, the famed Patriots coach Bill Belichick has split from his longtime girlfriend Linda Holliday. The boss’s love woes, on the other hand, are producing turbulent seas surrounding his typically calm Nantucket living – and making team executives nervous. Belichick has been with Holiday since 2007, but they’ve been in a long-distance, back-and-forth relationship for about a year. Complicating matters is the fact that throughout their romance, southern gal Holliday must have grown enamoured of his New England sanctuary Nantucket and is unlikely to quit the tight-knit island community simply because she’s no longer with Belichick. Meanwhile, it’s a problematic scenario for business reasons, as Holliday not only runs his Bill Belichick Foundation, but she also has a reputation of, well, oversharing on social media.

Bill Belichick & his longtime girlfriend Linda Holliday have been embroiled in a ‘drawn-out, back-and-forth breakup’ that has lasted more than a year. The New England Patriots coach, 71, has been linked with Holliday, 59, since 2007, and their split has football executives on edge as Belichick prepares to begin his 24th season with the team, sources informed Page Six on Wednesday. According to sources, Holliday, who has previous experience in beauty pageants, continues to live at the six-time Super Bowl champion coach’s Nantucket, Massachusetts house and is ‘ very fond’ of the place and location. Holliday, who has been linked to Belichick since a year after his divorce from Debby Clarke Belichick ended in 2006, is also involved with the legendary NFL coach in other ways. She is the president of the Bill Belichick Foundation, which ‘aims to offer coaching, mentorship, & financial assistance to individuals, communities, and organisations.’
Holliday made headlines in January 2021 when she criticised Belichick’s longstanding star player Tom Brady, who had a high-profile split last October when he divorced his wife Gisele Bündchen following a 13-year marriage. Brady had just won a playoff game with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, on his way to his first Super Bowl sans Belichick, when an Instagram follower commented, ‘Too bad Bill let Tom leave!’ Holliday, in a remark that the publication claims caused Brady behind-the-scenes problems, dismissed Brady’s performance in his team’s triumph. ‘And you obviously have all the answers,’ she added. Tom didn’t score a single goal last night! That game was won through defence. Were you even paying attention?’ The break comes as Belichick prepares to enter his 49th season in the NFL and 29th as a head coach. He begins Sunday’s season opener versus the Philadelphia Eagles with 329 career wins (including playoffs), 19 less than Don Shula (347), who holds the record for the most in NFL history.
