A spectacular entrance was made by ace filmmaker Baz Luhrmann at the 2023 Oscars on Sunday, March 12. During a photo shoot with his wife Catherine Martin and daughter, Lillian, the 60-year-old wore a $263,000 necklace by David Webb. A total of eight nominations were given to Elvis, including Best Picture, Best Costume Design for Catherine Martin, and Best Actor for Austin Butler. During the ceremony, Martin wore a blue iridescent sequined gown trimmed in cream. A rose-gold sequined gown with a tulle neckline was worn by Lilly, who smiled for pictures with her parents. Wearing the huge necklace over a crisp white shirt, Luhrmann turned heads.

A carved jade plaque surrounds a brilliant-cut diamond-studded black enamel pendant. It was designed by Webb and adorned with carved jade pendants, black enamel, and diamonds. He shared its picture on Instagram with the caption, An elegant statement of sophistication. Butler was widely expected to beat Fraser at the Academy Awards. Fraser won the trophy in the end. It was surprising that Luhrmann’s biographical film performed so poorly overall. New York Post reports that it lost in all eight categories in which it was nominated, including Best Hair and Makeup Styling.
