Backlash Over Danny Masterson Support Sparks Investigation into Ashton Kutcher’s Scientology Ties
4 min readDanny Masterson’s pals and co-stars, including Mila Kunis & Ashton Kutcher, have expressed their support as he faces a 30-year to life jail sentence. Before his official sentence, multiple letters from high-profile celebrities were filed to the court. This comes two decades after the star s*xually abused two women at his Hollywood Hills home. Many people were surprised to learn that Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis supported the actor, who is also a member of the Church of Scientology. As the couple suffers condemnation for their support of Masterson, many have speculated whether they are also members of the divisive church. Despite the fact that Danny Masterson was presented as a predator, the actor maintains his innocence.
So @aplusk and @MilaKunisv are in the cult of scientology as well? That’s so incredibly disappointing.

I was thinking how strange it would be for anyone who isn’t in that cult to actually write a letter of support.
In a press statement, his lawyer stated that they want to appeal the verdict in the hopes of having the “conviction overturned.” Meanwhile, other celebrities, including Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis, Debra Jo Rupp, Kurtwood Smith, Giovanni Ribisi, William Baldwin, and Jim Patterson, have submitted letters to Judge Charlaine Olmedo in the hopes th at Masterson will be sentenced leniently. Between 1998 and 2006, Kunis & Kutcher co-starred alongside Masterson in the That 70s Show series. Masterson must now serve at least 30 years in prison before being eligible for early release on good behaviour. This, however, is subject to change. If the actor is qualified for parole, he can be released after serving a minimum of 20 years.
Hard to imagine what Scientology has over Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher that if revealed would make them look worse than the letters they wrote for Danny Masterson. Must be hella ugly skeletons in their closet.

Ashton Kutcher Scientologist Accusations Are Being Investigated As Danny Masterson’s Backing Ignites Outrage
Before Danny Masterson, an actor and Scientologist, was sentenced to 30 years to life in prison on two rape counts in Los Angeles, multiple of his That ’70s Show co-stars, which includes Ashton Kutcher as well as Mila Kunis, apparently wrote letters of support to the judge in the hopes that it would influence the sentence. Three women alleged the now-convicted actor of sexually assaulting them at his Hollywood Hills home during the years 2001 and 2003, a time when Kutcher and Kunis worked alongside Masterson on the big screen. From 1998 through 2006, the trio featured on the Fox comedy together; Kutcher later reunited with Masterson for Netflix’s The Ranch, which Masterson was written out of after facing allegations of sexual misconduct in 2017. Meghann Cuniff, a legal affairs reporter, was the first to publish the letters. In them, Kutcher describes Masterson as a “role model” & “extraordinarily truthful,” noting that “he is one of those few individuals I would trust to be alone alongside my son & daughter,” whom he shares with Kunis. Ashton Kutcher went on to thank Masterson for keeping him away from narcotics, which are prevalent in the Hollywood industry.
He also described Masterson’s defence of a woman in a pizzeria and his advocacy for firemen during the 9-11 disaster. “He is compassionate, friendly, and hardworking,” Kutcher added. He treated everyone as equals, from the handles to the teamsters to the performers to the caterers. He was usually on time and constantly pulled his weight. Masterson’s “exceptional character” and “tremendous positive influence” on Kunis are mentioned in her letter. The couple’s support for Masterson during his sentence has sparked debate regarding their views. Many people believe the pair is a member of the Church of Scientology. Meanwhile, a photo of the couple with Masterson, Laura Prepon, & Wilmer Valderrama at a Scientology event has gone viral. Several netizens appeared to be tired of the couple’s possible connection in Scientology and their support for Masterson. Masterson was convicted following two trials, the first of which ended in a mistrial due to a hung jury in November 2022. Masterson was convicted of sexually assaulting two of the three women in the second trial. All of Masterson’s accusers belonged to the Church of Scientology. Prosecutors said that the church assisted in covering up the claims, something the church has disputed.
There are plenty of LAPD police officers at these Scientology Celebrity Center events as well. I guess we will see this Christmas, if the LAPD is still firmly in Scientology’s pocket… #TeamXenu

So gross. Laura finally left the “church” but never spoke out against them. 🙁
