DIICOT (the Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism) raided controversial internet personality Andrew Tate mansion and luxury house in Romania, according to Romanian news outlet Libertatea. According to the 29th December report, armed police targeted Tristan and Andrew Tate’s Bucharest home on the same day and the raid was related to a previous abduction case earlier in the year. Following the video of the duo being arrested, prominent Twitter accounts reposted the news like wildfire.

A statement issued by prosecutors from the anti-organised-crime unit after raiding Tate’s properties in Bucharest said he and his brother Tristan, banned from many social media platforms for misogynistic comments and hate speech, would be detained for 24 hours along with two Romanian suspects.
