American Idol Season 20: Watch ‘Betty Maxwell’ Cover Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood During Audition
2 min readThe audition of Betty Maxwell for Season 20 of American Idol is unique. The TV Insider released an exclusive clip in which Miss USA 2016 performs “A Moment Like This” by Kelly Clarkson. Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan fought for her crown as she focused on hitting the perfect notes.
Despite early signs, it seems that Betty Maxwell will likely advance to the next round as a result of an early sneak peek. The burning question remains whether she deserves the coveted platinum ticket.
Who is Betty Maxwell?
Betty Maxwell is a great singer, a make-up artist, and a Disney character impressionist. The TikTok video she shared on Instagram with over a million views was one of her most recent videos.
She mimics Elsa, Cinderella, and Moana’s singing style from animated movies. Her website’s description reads that she is a “Motivational Speaker, Singer, Actress, Model, Author, Makeup Artist, Pageant Coach, Miss Georgia 2015, Miss America 2016.” She clearly has a lot to offer.
In December last year, Maxwell posted a video recalling the good times she had as a Miss USA. When she is not making voice-acting videos, Maxwell remembers everything she learned as a pageant queen.
A new book, Miss Unlikely: From Farm Girl to Miss America, recently emerged to capture all those special moments and more. A 4.7 rating has been given to the autobiography, which is available on Amazon for $9.99.

Spencer Maxwell, a freelance videographer, is the contestant’s husband. Spencer lives in Florida with his wife and their two dogs.
Season 20 of American Idol is looking promising. So far, there has been some variety in the pitches and personalities of the contestants. Maxwell is among the singers who give judges a challenging task in the current crop.
