Additionally, Murray stated that she is not afraid of alligators despite the recent accident. She went on to add that the reptiles usually just lay around the bank by the lakes.

Meanwhile, she continued that what happened with Serge was absolutely horrible.  She also claimed that Serge might have been experiencing a ‘senior moment’ since she usually would not walk with her dog along the water.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) released a statement to address the death of Gloria Serge who was killed in an alligator attack.

They reported that Serge was walking her dog along the lake when a 10-foot (3m) alligator attacked the pet. However, the reptile went after her when she tried to save her dog.

Besides that, Serge’s neighbor, Carol Thomas called 911 to report the incident after she noticed her being attacked.

Thomas can be heard telling the dispatcher, ‘There’s a woman in the lake! The alligators got her. I think she’s gone. Oh my God!’

Moreover, she mentioned that she tried to pull Serge to safety by using a pole. However, by the time she reached the lake, Thomas noticed that Serge had already died in the vicious and sudden attack.

Meanwhile, Robert Lilly, the gator trapper said in an interview, ‘We snagged him on the bottom. He never surfaced. He stayed down the whole time.’
