Alec Baldwin is facing criticism on social media after he shared a post about gun control amid the Nashville school shooting. For the unversed, he is accused of involuntary manslaughter.

Here is everything you need to know.

Alec Baldwin reposts gun control message following Nashville shooting

Alec Baldwin took to his Instagram account to share a screenshot of a viral tweet from musician Peter Frampton after the mass shooting at Covenant School in Nashville this week.

The post read, ’26 years ago, a gunman entered Dunblane Primary School in Scotland, killing 16 kids and a teacher.’

It continued, ‘The UK govt responded by enacting tight gun control legislation. In the 9400+ days since, there have been a total of 0 school shootings in the UK.’

Although the 64-year-old actor’s message was seemingly condoning guns, Baldwin ended up receiving criticism in the wake of his ongoing legal troubles.

Meanwhile, Baldwin’s Instagram post came after the shooting at a Nashville school earlier this week.

The shooter was identified as 28-year-old Audrey Hale who was also a former student of the Christian academy.

Besides that, she killed three 9-year-old students as well as three adults.

Furthermore, the first responders found Hale on the second floor of the school with assault weapons and a handgun. She was shot by the officers.

Social media users react to Alec Baldwin’s gun control post

Many internet users were seemingly not impressed with Baldwin’s recent post about gun control measures.

Additionally, they called him out for inadvertently shooting ‘Rust’ cinematographer Halyna Hutchins in October 2021.

A user wrote, ‘Is the guy that killed someone with a gun, lecturing people on gun violence? Well, I guess he has first-hand knowledge.’

Someone else chimed in to say, ‘Read the room, Alec. You are unbelievable.’

Another user added, ‘Reposted by the guy, who shot and killed a woman with a gun??!’

A different user went on to comment, ‘Does anyone find it odd that Alec is posting on gun control ??’

More about Alec Baldwin’s alleged manslaughter

Alec Baldwin was filming for the American Western film Rust in 2021 when a prop gun was loaded with live ammunition for unclear reasons.

In addition, he supposedly pulled the trigger and hit Halyna Hutchins, who eventually passed away from her injuries.

The 30 Rock alum is on trial for manslaughter in New Mexico where he shot Hutchins on set. He could face up to 18 months in prison if found guilty.
