A$AP Rocky is gearing up to release his highly anticipated album Don’t Be Dumb, and reports suggest he has some choice words for Drake. The Harlem rapper’s last album, Testing, came out in 2018, and since then, the hip-hop landscape has undergone significant changes. Among these changes is a simmering feud between Rocky and Drake, which appears ready to reignite on Rocky’s new record.

Drake, known for his competitive nature in the rap game, has taken shots at numerous artists, including A$AP Rocky. He targeted Rocky in the tracks “Push Ups” and “Family Matters,” even referencing Rocky’s relationship with Rihanna. Since then, Rocky has remained relatively silent on the matter, but that silence is expected to break with his upcoming release.

Scheduled for release on August 30, Don’t Be Dumb promises to be a bold statement from Pretty Flacko. DJ Kast One from Hot 97 recently discussed the album on the Ebro in the Morning

show, hinting at what fans can expect. According to Kast One, Rocky addresses several current issues on the album, including his beef with Drake.

“I heard A$AP Rocky definitely addressing a lot of the main topics that are happening out here right now,” Kast One stated. “Let’s just say, the list keeps going on strong.” When Ebro pressed for clarification, asking if Rocky would be dissing Drake, Kast One confirmed, “Oh, he’s going to be cemented on the list after this.”

The feud between Drake and A$AP Rocky has been ongoing, with the two exchanging barbs in their music. The conflict gained traction after Drake seemingly dissed Rihanna in his track “Fear of Heights” from the album For All the Dogs. Rocky responded on Kid Cudi’s song “Wow” in January, and again in April on the Future and Metro Boomin track “Show of Hands”.

In “Show of Hands,” Rocky raps, “Call up Pluto, Metro, should’ve put me on the first one/Nias swear they bh the baddest, I just bagged the worst one,” taking clear aim at Drake. He continues, “Ni*as in they feelings over women, what, you hurt or somethin’?/I smash before you birthed, son, Flacko hit it first, son.”

Drake’s latest shot came in “Family Matters,” where he raps, “Rakim talkin’ st again/Gassed ’cause you hit my BM first/Nia do the math, who I was hitting then,” making direct reference to Rocky and Rihanna. Drake further mocks Rocky’s career, “I ain’t even know you rap still ’cause they only talking ’bout your fit again/Probably gotta have a kid again before you think of dropping any sh*t again.”

With Don’t Be Dumb, A$AP Rocky is poised to respond decisively. Fans eagerly await the album to hear how Rocky addresses the beef and other pressing issues. This album marks a significant moment for Rocky, both as a statement of his artistry and a retort to one of the biggest names in hip-hop.
