Teenage shooter Salvador Ramos killed at least 19 children and two adults as he opened fire on an early Tuesday morning at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas.

He was shot and killed by unnamed off-duty Customs and Border Protection law enforcement officers before he could continue the school slaughter.

The suspect in the Texas Elementary school massacre was killed by a Customs and Border Protection agent.

It was reported that Salvador Ramos shot his maternal grandmother in the face before he went on to driving off to the school in a getaway car. He crashed the vehicle nearby the school.

Christopher Olivarez, who works the Texas Department of Public Safety, reported that as soon as he arrived at the Robb Elementary School he opened fire on everyone including children and teachers.

An hour later a batch of elite Border Patrol commandos, local cops, as well as county deputies made their way to the location.

It was further reported that Ramos barricaded himself in a two windowed classroom. He killed multiple of his victims and also launched an attack on law enforcement.

The Border Patrol Tactical Unit (BORTAC) forced their way into the classroom after they retrieved master key from the principal.

In addition, it was mentioned that three officers entered the classroom gradually. One officer distracted Ramos while another got shrapnel wounds during the firing incident. However, a third agent was successful in shooting the suspect fatally.

The agent who killed the Texas Elementary school suspect Salvador Ramos prefers to keep his identity hidden as of now.

However, it was revealed that the unnamed officer works in the Del Rio sector of Customs and Border Protection. Uvalde was one of the units included in the sector.

His training was similar to the coaching received by the special forces agents in the United States.

As per NBC, the BORTAC officer was trained to deal with all sorts of chaotic incidents. He was taught to handle terror threats abroad, riots at ICE detention facilities, and many more.

Marsha Espinosa, the Department of Homeland Security’s assistant secretary of public affairs, released a statement. She mentioned that both on as well as off-duty CBP agents went to the location. They aided students and facilities to safety and provided medical attention.

Espinosa added, ‘Risking their own lives, these Border Patrol Agents and other officers put themselves between the shooter and children on the scene to draw the shooter’s attention away from potential victims and save lives.’
