FAFSA applications: There are a lot of people in society who are capable to get admission into college and pay the fees but many can’t just pay their fees. They have the capability of doing something but due to lack of money, they back out. But now money will not be a big hurdle. People who are looking for financial aid can just fill out the form and their college fees will be paid. Free Application for Federal Student Aid is the application that one has to fill out. What is FAFSA?

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is a form that can be filled up by current and prospective college students. It is for both undergraduates and postgraduates. This form is for the United States. There are some eligibility criteria also. One has to meet the following criteria-

  2. The academic Progress of the child should be satisfactory
  3. He/She must be a U.S. citizen or a U.S. national or an eligible non-citizen
  4. A student must own a valid Social Security number

How to fill FAFSA form?

This year’s forms are out on October 1. To fill out the application form, firstly one has to register student as well as their parents on fafsa.gov. They then have to fill out all their biographical information. After filling out all students, one has to fill in whether they are registered for the Selective Service or not. They also have to fill out about drug convictions. Then, they will be asked about their college and degrees. Then comes some legal process. It’s about tax filiation. Then, there is a column for parents’ tax information is a student is dependent on his/her parents which are generally. Then next few more personal details and your process is done.

Changes in the application this year?

In the past, there were two questions in the form which are of no importance. The first question is about drug conviction. And the second question is about registered for Selective Service. Earlier, students consuming drugs were not accepted. But this year this is changed. Still, now, the question will be there in the form, but it will not be a hurdle to your application acceptance. Apart from it, there will be a few more changes also according to the Federal Student Aid website. The changes are that there will be a few other small tweaks which will include a visual website update.
