Twitch star Noko, known to his fans as Christian, recently announced his decision to leave Apex Legends behind and pursue content creation for Valve’s new hero shooter, Deadlock. In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), Noko expressed his excitement for this new chapter in his streaming career. He joins a growing list of streamers, including AverageJonas, who are shifting their focus to Deadlock, which is still in its beta phase.

Noko’s announcement comes as no surprise to his dedicated fanbase. In his post, he reflected on his journey as an Apex Legends streamer and thanked his followers for supporting his career, noting that it was their encouragement that motivated him to make the switch. “It’s been such a breath of fresh air playing Deadlock,” Noko tweeted on September 2, 2024. “The game is amazing, and I’ve played with so many new people. Thank y’all for rocking with me! Also, I’ve streamed 15 hours a day for the last 5 days… I’m so addicted 😅.”

Deadlock has quickly become a rising star in the competitive shooter category, attracting attention from players of popular games like Valorant, Counter-Strike, and Overwatch. Since its beta release, streamers such as Shroud have praised the game for its mechanics and innovative gameplay. Noko’s decision to focus on Deadlock is seen as a natural progression as the game continues to build momentum in the gaming community.

With nearly 400,000 followers on Twitch, Noko has built a reputation as a skilled Apex Legends streamer, logging over 11,500 hours on the game, according to Twitch Tracker. Though he has dabbled in other shooters like Valorant and Overwatch, Apex Legends was his primary focus for years. In his post, Noko looked back on his time with the game fondly and credited his community for giving him the courage to quit his previous job at Verizon and become a full-time content creator.

“A little over 5 years ago, my community convinced me to take a leap of faith and quit my job at Verizon to be a content creator for Apex,” Noko shared. “Since then, I’ve played professionally, traveled the world, met amazing people, and made great memories that I will cherish forever.”

Despite his love for Apex Legends, Noko explained that his decision to transition to Deadlock was largely influenced by his fans, who encouraged him to explore new opportunities. “With that being said, I’ve decided to listen to my community once again and also follow my heart. I will be quitting Apex to pursue playing Deadlock! Whether it’s for content, guides, going pro, or even watch parties, I’m excited for this next step,” he wrote.

Noko assured his followers that while Deadlock would be his main focus moving forward, he would still play a variety of games on his stream. “I will also be doing more variety but mainly Deadlock. Thank you all for the support over the years! Hope y’all will still support this new chapter.”

As Deadlock continues to grow in popularity on platforms like Twitch and YouTube, more streamers are expected to jump on board. Big names such as xQc have already started playing the game, further boosting its visibility in the gaming community.

For Noko, this marks the beginning of an exciting new journey, and his loyal fanbase is eager to see how he will thrive in the world of Deadlock. With a combination of community support and a fresh challenge ahead, the future looks bright for the popular streamer.
