Emily Balistrieri who translates Tomihiko Morimi’s novels has officially announced on Twitter that HarperVia of HarperCollins will publish The Tatami Galaxy of Tomihiko Morimo 2004 which is an English novel in the starting of 2022. After 16 long years, the Tatami Galaxy Novel has got a sequel. The novel is based on an anime which was directed by Masaaki Yuasa long back in April 2010, this series consisted of 11 episodes. After publishing Tatami Galaxy Novel the Tatami Time Machine Blues will also be discovered in the following year 2023 during the summer season.
A View on the Plot of The Tatami Galaxy
The story Tatami Galaxy is based on the life of college-going students. Due to the misconception that students have of college life of just having fun is not real instead it is about giving the opportunity to come out of the comfort zone, this is what the main character realizes later.
The story begins with an anonymous third-year student at Kyoto University explaining how his life would have been turned if he would have joined to different friends group. This is because he regrets later having his confusing relationship and when he realizes later that “rose-colored campus life that he dreamt of is not actually real. Later, he develops his friendship with Ozu who is another student of the same college who leads him to develop a confused sense of morality. In addition to this, he also develops a romantic relationship with Akanishi, who is a second-year engineering student ending up promising her many things. Later he meets a fortune teller, who shows him how college life would have really been good for him if he chose some other friends and different circles which he regretted later.
The readers are much excited for the novel to get published to get to know what really happens and how the unknown narrator realizes what he has missed later. The novel was before aired in a series form on platforms like Funimation and Crunchyroll but then the series.
