Fruits Basket Season 3 Episode 9: Fruits Basket is one of the best ongoing shojo anime series. The manga from which this anime series is adapted is written and illustrated by Natsuki Takaya. Fruits Basket 2019 is a reboot of the 2001’s anime series. TMS Entertainment with the collaboration of Funimation made this anime reboot. The first episode of this reboot was dropped in 2019. And since then it gained quite a fanbase. Two seasons are already out and fans are intrigued by its intricate storyline. It’s raining outside and Kyo is about to go outside holding an umbrella in his hand. At that time Tohru stops him and she wants to tell Kyo something. Kyo intersects her words and he wants to ask her something first. Kyo seems serious. He asks her if she loves him. Kyo remembers the talk with Momiji on the roof of their school. Tohru does not reply but Kyo can understand that he is right. Kyo asks her mother was the person she loved most. Then is that faded? Kyo leaves the house leaving the umbrella. And telling himself that staying with her, this wish of his is not fair. But Tohru follows him and asks him to wait.

Fruits Basket Season 3 Episode 8: Kyo knew Tohru’s mother

Kyo feels very sorry for Tohru’s mother. He says to her that her mother could have lived if he would have helped her. Because on the day her mother died he was there. He explains to her how her mother was important to him too. When he was a little kid he used to wander around. One day he was sitting in a park alone when her mother came there. She asked about Kyo’s mom and dad. Kyo replied angrily. Because his mother died and his father did not like him. Listening to that Tohru’s mother kept her hand on Kyo and said that Kyo must be feeling lonely. After that, they used to meet there and talk about many things. Kyo remembers Tohru’s mother talking about Tohru’s father and Tohru.

Kyo remembers the day Tohru was lost and her mother was crying. He saw that and promised her that he would find Tohru. But the next day when Kyo was still searching Tohru’s mother arrived and said that Tohru was safe. She was holding a hat. Kyo asked her about the hat. She replied that the kid who helped her was wearing the hat. Kyo knew that the hat was Yuki’s. And that time he hated Yuki so much. Tohru’s mother advised him not to label persons good or bad. Life is not like that. Kyo pushed her and gave up on her. After that, he never went there.

Fruits Basket Season 3 Episode 8: Kyo blames himself for Tohru’s mother’s death

Kyo tells Tohru about the day of her mother’s accident. He was there and he saw a car was out of control and coming towards her mother. He wanted to save her and wanted to grab her arms and pull her towards him. But he realized that he is not a human and if he would have grabbed her he would have transformed. And everyone would have known his secrets. So he let her die. He tells that he protected his secret at the cost of someone’s life. And he regrets that until now. He says that he always runs away from his problems. When his mother died everyone blamed him for that.

Now he blames himself for both his mother’s death and Tohru’s mother’s death. The says Tohru’s mother died in front of him something snapped inside him. And after that, he stopped living his life. His master took him to the mountain to live. The only thing that kept him living is that he kept saying to himself that he is innocent and Yuki is the main culprit. He kept hating Yuki. Kyo just created a bad guy in his mind and made him take responsibility for everything. He just always saved himself, he is always so selfish. He asks her after listening to all that can she forgive him.

She replies “I will never forgive you” this doesn’t sound like her mother at all. while crying she tells Kyo that whatever he tells it is a fact that she loves him. And it will not change. Listening to that Kyo runs off. All this time Yuki was in the background listening to their conversation. When Kyo runs off Yuki tells Tohru to go inside and after that Yuki runs to find Kyo.
