We have seen so far that Boruto and his friends Sarada and Mitsuki are looking for Kawaki. Why? Because Kawaki ran from the lab after a brutal fight with Nue. After the fight, Kawaki was severely injured and profoundly bleeding as his hand was bitten by Nue. He started wandering in a nearby village in the search of food; an attempt to regain his strength back. While on the other side, Mitsuki suggested to the group that he might have escaped using the Thunder Rail, the shortest path that leads to a nearby village. On which Sumire advises the group that they should look for Kawaki. They ordered the guards to run a search party in the nearby village. This whole time, Boruto had this itchy feeling that Sumire has no idea how dangerous Kawaki can be.
When Kawaki saw the guards, he instantly realized what was going on. He decides to drop the idea of eating something from the shop; instead, he started looking in dumpsters. After a long time which feels like an eternity, he finds a loaf of bread. But, he was not the only eye staring at it; a dog was also there. He told the dog that the loaf belongs to him, as he saw it first. But that leads to a fight, which Kawaki easily wins but realizes that the dog’s feet are wounded. He then cured the dog’s feet and became friends with the dog.
Later, in the show, Sumire and Nue were able to track down Kawaki by his blood. Sumire was able to once again meet Kawaki. She asks him told her everything about himself. “I am not back”, he snaps. He gave her a warning that his powers can sweep clean an entire village. She felt that he is hiding something. A deep down agony, that is hurting him constantly. The episode ends with a pleading Sumire, convincing Naruto and team 7 to look back at Kawaki’s origin.
The next episode will deal with the same topic. About the origin story of Kawaki. What is he hiding in his past? Is his past have to do anything with Kigen? This episode will give a glimpse of how Kawaki was as a child, about his struggles. What has happened in his past that has changed him completely? Fans should prepare themselves for an emotional rollercoaster ride.
