Shannon Stillwell, a member of the YSL (“Young Slime Life”), & 28 other rappers from the group were arrested in May 2022 for allegedly breaching Georgia’s RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations) Act. Young Thug, the YSL leader & co-founder, was also among them. Young Thug’s attorney, Brian Steel, submitted a motion to conceal evidence connected to co-defendant Shannon Stillwell, who was detained on alleged murder allegations last year around the same time as the RICO accusations, on Saturday, July 27, during the continuing RICO trial. Shannon Stillwell was detained from his East Point house in Georgia while “in the middle of a religious ceremony involving the alleged sacrifice of goats,” according to Complex.com.

Young Thug’s legal team has now requested that the footage of Stillwell’s arrest be omitted from evidence since his murder charges are distinct from the rest of YSL’s RICO accusations. Shannon Stillwell, a YSL member and one of Young Thug’s co-defendants, is a rapper. Shannon Jackson, or SB, is his professional name. In addition to RICO and murder accusations, Stillwell is facing gun charges plus allegations connected to his involvement in a violent street gang. Stillwell’s arrest for alleged murder during a goat-sacrificing ceremony comes after Young Thug’s bond was denied for the fourth time since last year.

Shannon Stillwell, A YSL member’s Goat Sacrifice Claim Has Gone Viral On The Internet

Young Thug’s attorney, Brian Steel, submitted a motion to conceal evidence connected to co-defendant Shannon Stillwell, who was detained on alleged murder charges last year at roughly the same time as the RICO accusations, on Saturday, July 27, during the continuing RICO trial. Shannon Stillwell was detained from his East Point house in Georgia while “in the midst of a religious ceremony involving the alleged sacrifice of goats,” according to Complex.com. Young Thug’s legal team has now requested that the footage of Stillwell’s arrest be omitted from evidence since his murder charges are distinct from the rest of YSL’s RICO accusations. Stillwell was arrested on May 9, 2022, along with Young Thug and 27 other YSL members, and was freed on bail, only to be apprehended a week later, on May 17, 2022, from his apartment in East Point, Georgia. This was for separate alleged murder accusations stemming from the alleged death of fellow Young Slime Life member Shymel Drinks. Shannon Stillwell’s arrest has now come up during Young Thug’s ongoing RICO trial, with the prosecution wishing to use his arrest footage as evidence.

However, Young Thug’s attorney has stated that Stillwell’s purported murder charges are unrelated to Young Thug’s RICO allegations and has filed a motion to reject the footage as evidence to be presented in court. He has also maintained that Thug’s trial should not be tied to the religious views of his co-defendant. Shannon Stillwell’s arrest video, according to WSB-TV reporter Michael Seiden, would include him in the midst of a religious ritual including all-white clothes and goat sacrifice in an attempt to bring out “loa.” According to the voodoo faith, “loa” is a spirit intermediary among the creator and humans who helps govern the cosmos and has the ability to bestow favours. As soon as word of Shannon Stillwell’s holy goat sacrifice spread on social media, netizens grew interested and sought to know the truth behind his and the other YSL members’ charges, particularly Young Thug. In addition to RICO and murder accusations, Stillwell is facing gun charges as well as allegations connected to his involvement in a violent street gang. Stillwell’s arrest for alleged murder during a goat sacrificing ceremony comes after Young Thug’s bond was rejected for the fourth time since last year.
