Streamer YourRAGE Shares Distressing Health Update, Risks Partial Blindness

Popular Twitch and Kick streamer Josh “YourRAGE” has provided another unsettling update about his ongoing eye injury. The content creator’s ordeal began on July 3, 2024, when he was struck in the face by an axe during a wood-chopping livestream. This accident resulted in significant damage to his retina and optical nerve, a fact he first revealed to his followers on July 7. Today, July 12, he shared a new video titled “It Got Worse… I’m seeing things,” where he detailed alarming changes in his vision.

In his latest video, YourRAGE explained that he has been experiencing unusual visual disturbances. He described seeing white objects out of the corner of his right eye, an experience so vivid that he initially believed there was a physical object, such as an eyelash or a fly, causing the issue. “It feels so real to the point where I’m looking schizo. I’m over here looking around, slapping,” he said, emphasizing the disorienting nature of these visual phenomena.

The 26-year-old FaZe Clan member revealed that doctors have diagnosed him with an impending Posterior Vitreous Detachment (PVD). This condition involves the detachment of a gel-like substance in the eye from the retina. YourRAGE recounted his reaction to the diagnosis: “When I heard him talking, I’m like, ‘Yeah, GG. That is not normal.’ Whatever. I get to the doc, he’s looking in my eye, and by the end of the exam, he tells me I have this thing called impending PVD.”

Doctors explained that the gel-like substance attached to his retina is detaching and will inevitably fully detach. While PVD itself is not uncommon, the trauma-induced nature of his detachment poses a significant risk. YourRAGE elaborated on the gravity of his situation, noting, “There’s nothing too bad about it detaching. But the problem with me is – mine was induced with trauma, and there’s a chance it could detach and tear my retina as it’s detaching.”

The streamer expressed the severity of the potential consequences: “He’s like, ‘No, that’s serious. That’s serious. You can go partially blind. You could start seeing lightning bolts all over the place. You could see, like, a curtain fold over your vision. If you experience any changes in your vision, you come here immediately!'”

The possibility of partial blindness and the vivid descriptions of his current visual disturbances have underscored the seriousness of his condition. The community continues to offer support and well-wishes as he navigates this challenging time.

Despite the daunting prognosis, YourRAGE remains committed to sharing his journey with his audience. His openness about the physical and emotional toll of his injury has resonated with many, highlighting the vulnerability that can accompany high-profile careers in content creation. As he continues to seek medical advice and monitor his condition, the streaming community stands by him, hoping for a positive outcome.
