Johnny Depp’s sister, Debbie Depp, will reportedly testify at the defamation trial once the trial resumes.

According to the Independent, the continuing Johnny Depp and Amber Heard defamation case in Fairfax, Virginia, started on May 16, 2022, following a weeklong hiatus.

As the trial progresses, a slew of fresh witnesses will be summoned to the stand, including the American actor’s sister, Debbie Depp.

The sister of Johnny Depp is expected to testify as a witness

In the actor’s defamation action, Johnny Depp’s sister is expected to testify.

Debbie Depp is apparently on Heard’s list of potential witnesses. She could testify when the trial resumes, according to the Independent.

According to Merriam Webster’s definition, to testify implies making a solemn declaration under o ath for the purpose of establishing a fact (as in a court). Making a statement based on personal knowledge or belief, bearing witness, or serving as evidence or proof.

Debbie Depp will be involved in the case for the first time, according to OK Magazine. Unlike her older sister, Christi Dembrowski, who testified on behalf of her younger brother in April.

Dembrowski, a film producer, previously testified and reportedly recounted how Johnny’s late mother, Betty Sue Palmer, was abusive but swore that her brother “never” touched her.

Debbie Depp is rumored to be the stepsister of Johnny Depp. They shared a mother, Betty Sue Palmer, who died on May 20, 2016.

Debbie, unlike her movie-star brother, is said to avoid the spotlight and live a secluded life away from the press.

Debbie has a brother named Daniel, a nephew named Jack, and a niece named Lily-Rose. All of them share the surname Depp.

The defamation case is going on

According to the Independent, the trial was recently put on hold for a week because the judge presiding over the case had to attend an unrelated conference.

The trial then began on Monday, May 16th, with final arguments slated for May 27th, 2022.

Amber Heard is suing Johnny Depp for defamation over an op-ed she wrote for the Washington Post in 2018. Depp is being sued by Heard.

The trial will be continued.
