Bella Hadid, the American model opens up about her severe and acute mental health struggles. The ‘Model of the year’ reveals she suffered from ‘extreme depression and anxiety’ throughout her teenage and adult life.

The Victoria Secret supermodel has been suffering from severe mental health issues. She claims the reason for the same is not having used a personal stylist for a long time. She revealed to the WSJ Magazine of being in a weird place mentally and She found it difficult to put on an outfit and show up, with the anxiety of the paparazzi being outside.
The 25-year-old model took to Instagram last year to open up about her mental health issues. She battled extreme depression and anxiety through most of her teenage and adult life. Moreover, she revealed that her social anxiety kept growing during her 20s and it became difficult to relax with just one drink. She claimed of “hibernating between jobs”.
Moreover, Bella Hadid admitted that this life wasn’t sustainable for her as it constantly requires a social timeline to be followed. In addition, it involves working for 13 hours every single day. In November, the supermodel had shared selfies of herself crying and shared the purpose of the same with the outlet. She had depressive episodes very frequently during that time. Every time her mother or doctor asked how was she feeling, she found it easier to send them a selfie rather than explain how she felt.
This has been her situation every day, for quite a few years now. In reference to her photos, she wrote that “Social media is not real” and anyone who is struggling must keep that in mind. At times, all one wants to hear is that one is not alone. They are loved, seen, and heard.

Bella Hadid revealed facing “excruciating and debilitating mental and physical pain”. She was not aware of the reason for the same. This happened for over three years. She posted the pictures to ensure anybody feeling like that must know it is okay to feel like that.
Bella Hadid wanted her followers to be aware that while everything looked beautiful on Instagram, “at the end of the day, we are all cut from the same cloth.” She further added that she had her share of good and bad days. She had no regrets as to how much she shared on social media. However, she had surpassed the phase of posting pretty pictures.
She confessed that it felt good about being able to speak the truth.
Bella Hadid added that it makes her feel better that so many people are going through things and similar patterns she has been facing. She admitted that she doesn’t have to be on Instagram always. The ‘real is the new real’ for her and that mattered to her.
On hearing about the same, her fans took to social media in her support. One user wrote, “Oh my god poor Bella I had no idea she was going through something like that, my thoughts and prayers are with her” with the hashtag pray for Bella.
