Travis Pastrana, an American professional motorsports competitor and stunt performer has been hospitalized. He had a major accident as a parachute stunt went wrong in Florida.
Parachutist Injured As A Parachute Stunt Goes Wrong
Travis Pastrana, the 38-year-old motorsport competitor had suffered major injuries following a parachute stunt crash. He jumped off from a high-rise hotel in Florida to Huizenga Plaza below. He shared a video of the same on Instagram. The video shows Travis Pastrana trying to control his parachute after jumping from the top of the hotel. He injured himself as he descended on the ground. However, he descended with a forceful impact as he landed in the hotel compound.
Shortly, thereafter Travis Pastrana was rushed to the hospital. His publicist reported that he suffered a broken pelvis due to the mishap and had to undergo surgery. Thankfully, the surgery went fine and he is on road to recovery, as mentioned by his publicist.
The press approached the Fort Lauderdale authorities to comment about the mishap. Fire Chief Stephen Gollan of Fort Lauderdale made a statement regarding the incident. Video crews were shooting a video on Saturday morning between Andrews Avenue and Las Olas Boulevard. In addition, he added the same, that the parachute stunt did not go as planned. As a result, the parachutist had to suffer a hard landing.
The 11-time X Games gold medalist was there to film a web series at that time.
