Law officials are now investigating the disappearance of a Manchester girl Harmony Montgomery as a homicide.
Here is everything you need to know.
Cops believe Harmony Montgomery has been killed
The search for Harmony Montgomery, who was last seen in 2019 when she was five years old, is being considered a homicide victim but her remains are yet to be discovered.
Attorney General John Formella confirmed that the Harmony Montgomery disappearance is now being investigated as a homicide.
He claimed, ‘We understand that this is truly devastating news for Harmony’s family, friends, and loved ones. Our hearts go out to them.’
Moreover, Formella has revealed that certain biological evidence led the law enforcement to conclude that Harmony might have been murdered. He refrained from providing any further information relating to the evidence.
Crystal Sorey, Harmony’s mother said while talking with NBC Boston, ‘I really thought I was going to bring her home. I came to find out she was never even missing. She’s been gone this whole time.’
She further added, ‘We’re begging you to give any information you know. We just want to find her remains so we can lay her to rest.’
Manchester Police Chief Allen Aldenberg emotionally announced that the Harmony disappearance case has now been turned into a possible murder investigation.
He said, ‘As I stated from the beginning of this investigation and throughout, every effort has been made to bring Harmony home to her family.’
Aldenberg continued, ‘Our commitment to bringing Harmony home has not wavered, nor will it.’
More about Harmony Montgomery’s investigation
Authorities have not released much information regarding the ongoing investigation of Harmony Montgomery. But they have talked with multiple Montgomery members.
Although she had been missing since 2019, the New Hampshire Division for Children, Youth, and Families reported her disappearance to the cops in the last week of 2021.
Earlier this year, Harmony’s father, Adam Montgomery was taken into custody by the authorities. He was charged with felony second-degree assault and accused of attacking his daughter in late 2019.
Moreover, the cops are identifying 31-year-old Adam as a prime suspect in a case that is now believed to be a murder as he did not report Harmony’s disappearance himself.
Kayla Montgomery, Adam’s wife, was also detained by the police over welfare fraud. She allegedly collected rations stamps by using Harmony’s name.
Kayla is Harmony’s stepmother. She reportedly collected food stamps of $1,500 from December 2019 to June 2021.
