News popping up from the Stardom world is hitting the Internet with the shocking news of Stevie J and Faith Evans’ divorce. The news is confirmed as a petition filed by Faith Evans for divorce with his husband Stevie J has been obtained by ET. The Court documents state that the petition is filed at Los Angeles County Superior Court on Monday. It clears the doubt and is therefore proof that Stevie J and Faith Evans are stepping back from their three years of marriage.
In July 2018 the couple got married in a personal ceremony at the hotel room in Las Vegas. As per the news reports says the R&B singer and the former reality TV star surprised the family, friends, and fans by revealing their love for each other on tweeter. They showered their confession as Stevie J wrote a tweet, “I love you Faith Renee Jordan”, and Faith replied with a tweet, “I love you back Steven Aaron Jordan.”
The couple knew each other from the 90s as the producer had worked with Evan’s husband, The Notorious B.I.G.
The Notorious B.I.G was the husband of Evans from 1994 to 1997. In 1997, The Notorious B.I.G was murdered and later Evans married Todd Russaw so in 1998. Todd Russaw is a record executive and maintained the relationship till 2011 and then their marriage was called off. In 2018, Evans tied the knot with Stevie J and shared a bond for three years.
Stevie J and Faith Evans do not have any children with each other. But both of them have a child individually from their previous partners. Stevie Jay has a daughter with his ex-partner Joseline Hernandez. Whereas, Faith Evans has a son with her late husband The Notorious B.I.G.
Reason For Divorce
The reason behind the divorce has been recorded as violence from Evan’s side. The couple had a fight verbally in 2020 which resulted in calling cops at their place. But later the situation became worse between them. Evans was arrested by the officers for pursuing domestic violence. The report says that there have been seen some physical assault marks on Stevie’s body. The cops stated that Evans was an aggressor and used to opt for violence to express her anger.
Later, the case was dismissed as the Los Angeles County District Antony’s Office took back the case by denying the testifying session, on behalf of Stevie J. But finally, they are separating their ways.
