Sean “Diddy” Combs, the renowned rapper, has filed a motion to dismiss a sexual misconduct lawsuit brought against him by an individual identified as Jane Doe. According to TMZ, Combs’ legal team argues that the statute of limitations for the lawsuit has expired. They also contend that the lawsuit lacks crucial details beyond the alleged assault.
Sean Combs’ attorneys further argue that the “trigger warning” attached to the filing was intended to draw attention to the salacious claims. They assert that the amendments to the original complaint do not rectify the falsehoods and incurable defects in the new pleading. The filing, as per TMZ, reads, “Like the original Complaint, it fails to state any viable claim and must be dismissed.”
The lawsuit was filed by Jane Doe in December 2023, shortly after Combs settled a rape and abuse lawsuit filed by his ex-girlfriend, Cassie. Doe alleges that Combs sex trafficked, drugged, and gang-raped her in 2003 when she was 17 years old.
According to Doe, she met Harve Pierre, the former president of Combs’ Bad Boy Entertainment record label, at a nightclub in Detroit. Pierre allegedly told her that Combs would be interested in meeting her. Doe claims that she agreed to fly to New York City with Pierre, but was forced to perform oral sex on him before they boarded the plane.
Upon landing, Doe alleges that she was taken to Sean Combs’ recording studio, where she was given drugs and alcohol by Combs, Pierre, and a third assailant. She claims that she was gang-raped by the three men in the studio.
Doe alleges that following the assault, she was in pain and could barely stand up. She was then helped into a car and taken back to the airport. Doe claims to have limited recollection of her return to Michigan.
The lawsuit includes various photos allegedly taken in the studio on the night of the assault, which Doe claims prove that she was in Combs’ New York City studio with him on the night she was raped.
Sean Combs is currently facing similar lawsuits from three other women and one man, all of which he has vehemently denied. He is also at the center of a federal sex trafficking investigation, and his homes in Los Angeles and Miami were raided by Homeland Security in March. However, he has not been charged with a crime.
