Rachel “Raquel” Leviss, a former star of “Vanderpump Rules,” faced intense backlash after publicly expressing support for Jax Taylor as he begins his treatment at a mental health facility. Leviss, 29, shared her thoughts on Instagram via a screen recording of her notes app on Wednesday.

“I am deeply saddened to hear of Jax’s mental health struggles and I wholeheartedly support his decision to seek treatment,” she wrote. Raquel Leviss, who underwent her own three-month treatment last year following the revelation of her affair with Tom Sandoval, drew a parallel between her experience and Taylor’s current situation. “I pray that his news is met with the open-mindedness that mine lacked, as I faced mockery and accusations of simply being in a spa,” she added.

Raquel Leviss concluded her message by highlighting the importance of accessible mental healthcare for reality TV stars. “I hope he finds the healing that I did through my own journey,” she wrote, captioning the video with, “Wishing you a speedy recovery.”

The response from Instagram users was swift and harsh. Many accused Leviss of making Jax Taylor’s struggles about herself. Comments like “How did you already manage to make this about yourself 😭,” and “Sounds like you’re making this about you” filled the comment section. Some users suggested that Leviss might need further treatment if she felt the need to publicize her reaction to Taylor’s news.

One critic commented, “Maybe some more treatment is needed if you felt the need to run to Instagram and make someone else’s situation about yourself.” Another remarked, “This reads so passive-aggressively too. Did you learn anything at that retreat?”

Despite the flood of negative feedback, a few users defended Raquel Leviss. One supporter wrote, “Why do you all go so hard on her? She is not making it about her. This girl spent a lot of time working on herself.” Another added, “She’s relating because she has gone through something similar and yeah it’s her Instagram, of course, it’s about her 🤦🏻‍♀️.”

Meanwhile, Jax Taylor’s representative confirmed on Tuesday that the reality star had chosen to seek inpatient treatment. The rep emphasized the sensitivity of the situation and requested privacy for Taylor and his family during this time.

Taylor, 45, has been open about his mental health struggles, discussing them candidly on his podcast. He recently shared an emotional moment where he broke down in front of a doctor at his new sports bar, admitting his serious anger issues and his desire to improve for the sake of his 3-year-old son, Cruz.

Jax Taylor and his estranged wife, Brittany Cartwright, 35, have been navigating their separation, trying different approaches to their relationship, including living separately and possibly dating other people. The couple announced their separation in February after nearly five years of marriage but continue to co-star in the “Vanderpump Rules” spinoff series “The Valley.”

Jax Taylor remains hopeful about his personal growth and reconciliation with Cartwright. Following the announcement of his inpatient treatment, he posted a heartfelt message on Instagram, sharing a photo of himself with Cruz, captioned, “Trying to get better for you buddy, daddy loves you so much.”

Leviss’s attempt to support Taylor has clearly struck a nerve, highlighting the complexities and sensitivities surrounding public figures and mental health discussions.
