During a recent Twitch livestream, popular streamer Imane “Pokimane” Anys found herself in a bit of a bind after accidentally leaking her Steam ID to thousands of viewers. The slip-up occurred while she was playing LOCKDOWN Protocol with other notable content creators, including Rachell “Valkyrae” Hofstetter, Noah “Foolish Gamers,” Janet “xChocoBars,” and Thomas “Sykkuno.” The incident unfolded when fellow player Josh “Ellum” mentioned that he and Pokimane weren’t yet friends on Steam.

While poking fun at the idea of adding Ellum as a Steam friend, joking that it was “so much work,” the Moroccan-Canadian streamer inadvertently revealed her Steam ID on screen. As soon as she realized the mistake, Pokimane quickly moved the Steam window off her main monitor and instructed her audience to “look away,” attempting to minimize the damage.

In her usual playful manner, Pokimane issued a lighthearted but firm warning to her fans not to clip the moment or try to add her as a friend on Steam. She jokingly threatened, saying, “If anyone clips that and adds me, I’m blocking you, I’m finding out where you live, and I’m leaving poop at your doorstep. So, don’t do it! Thank you.”

Despite her warning, one viewer was quick to send her a friend request on Steam. Upon noticing the notification, Pokimane called out the fan and humorously “scolded” them: “You! I have your… you’re the only person who had it! Shame on you! Timeout. 10-minute timeout in the corner of your bedroom. You’re grounded. Yeah, grounded! Shame! Shame on you.”

Pokimane’s accidental Steam ID reveal wasn’t the first time she let information slip on stream. In July 2021, while playing Rust with Jeremy “Disguised Toast,” she accidentally leaked details about a special OfflineTV video. While gathering in-game materials, Pokimane mentioned that she had a “mafia shoot” later that day, realizing too late that she wasn’t supposed to disclose the information. She quickly expressed regret, saying, “I don’t think I was supposed to say it… Hmm, I probably shouldn’t have said that. Anyways…”

Pokimane’s open and candid streaming style is part of what makes her so beloved by her audience, but even the most seasoned streamers can have slip-ups. Although this particular incident led to a bit of embarrassment and playful banter, it highlighted how easily private information can be leaked in the fast-paced world of live streaming.

As one of the most influential figures on Twitch, Pokimane’s moments of vulnerability, including accidental leaks, continue to entertain her fans. However, these incidents serve as reminders of the risks streamers face when broadcasting live. Pokimane’s ability to turn these slip-ups into light-hearted moments of fun speaks to her charm and professionalism, as she continues to navigate the complexities of online stardom with grace.

For now, Pokimane can rest easy knowing that her Steam ID is safely hidden once again—at least until the next unexpected blunder occurs.
