Rapper Plies has fiercely criticized Donald Trump’s Black supporters, claiming the former president is sensing the tide turning against him in the upcoming election. Plies’ comments came in response to Trump’s controversial appearance at the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) Convention in Chicago earlier this week.

Trump’s NABJ Appearance Sparks Backlash

During the panel, Trump caused a stir by attacking the hosts and disparaging the event. He even questioned Vice President Kamala Harris’s qualifications, implying she might be a diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) hire, and casting doubt on her Black identity. This behavior has drawn widespread criticism, including from Plies, who has consistently been outspoken against Trump.

Plies Takes to Social Media

Taking to social media, Plies expressed his disbelief at the silence from Trump’s Black supporters in the aftermath of the convention. “I’m just trying to muthafuckin see why everybody’s so g###### quiet,” he began in a passionate video. “Where are all the g###### people at? The Trump for Black folks? Where the f### is y’all? ‘Cause somebody needs to kick y’all right in y’all smelly a####, right muthafuckin now. All of a sudden today, y’all are so muthafuckin quiet today.”

He went on to echo sentiments from the Harris campaign, which stated that Trump’s actions at the NABJ panel revealed his true character. “Y’all ain’t got a f##### thing to say today,” Plies added. “All I’mma muthafuckin say is, ‘NABJ.’ That’s all I’ve got to muthafuckin say. That muthafucka got right on that muthafuckin stage and showed y’all how he feels about muthafuckas who don’t look like him. He showed you, right in your muthafuckin face.”

Plies’ Concerns Over Election Dynamics

Furthering his critique, Plies took to Twitter, now known as X, to voice his concerns about Trump’s campaign tactics. “Trump Is Feeling This Election Slipping Away From Him!! If It Gets To The Point He Feel He Cant Win He Will Ask For His Supporters To Burn It Down!!!” he tweeted. In another post, he asserted, “A White Man Don’t Get To Tell Black Folks What’s Black!!!!”

In another video, Plies mocked Trump, saying, “He Hate The Fact He Has To Ask Black People For Anything!!!” This sentiment highlights a broader critique of Trump’s approach to garnering support from the Black community, suggesting that it is more about necessity than genuine interest or respect.

Plies’ outburst is reflective of a larger frustration within the Black community and among Trump’s critics. The rapper’s comments resonate with many who see Trump’s actions and words as fundamentally at odds with the interests and dignity of Black Americans. The NABJ incident has only amplified these tensions, bringing to the fore issues of race, representation, and respect.

As the election season heats up, these conversations are likely to intensify. Plies’ vocal criticism serves as a reminder of the deep divisions and the high stakes involved in the upcoming political battles. His call for accountability among Black Trump supporters underscores the importance of critically evaluating political endorsements and the motivations behind them.
