Foxtail, a SouthSide nightclub associated with Skybar, announced they were closing it until further notice. The announcement comes days after a video showing a lewd act that supposedly took place at the venue went viral on the internet.

Pittsburgh’s Foxtail and Skybar temporarily shut down
AMPD Group has reportedly closed its Foxtail and Skybar venues in Pittsburgh’s South Side temporarily.
They took to Instagram and released a statement addressing the issue.
They wrote, ‘The safety and health of our guests and staff is our number one priority. After careful consideration, the owners of Foxtail/Skybar have decided to pause operations at the venue until further notice.’
The statement continued, ‘The climate for operating a night-time economy business in the South Side has regressed to the point of being unstable and has led to a customer base that is problematic.’
Furthermore, they said, ‘We will continue to support Mayor Gainey and the Public Safety Department’s South Side Safety Initiative Plan. We look forward to rejoining the community once a solution to the issues plaguing our neighborhood has been successfully implemented.’
Pittsburgh’s Foxtail viral video
According to KDKA News Radio, the controversial video featuring a woman performing a lewd act in front of the crowd present at the venue.
As per the video, the crowd appears to cheer someone while they inserted a glass bottle into the private parts of a partially dressed woman.
The video was soon circulating all over social media. However, shortly after the video was removed from the online platforms due to its obscene nature.
Authorities condemn Foxtail’s viral video
According to reports by WPXI, authorities and local police expressed their disapproval over the controversial video clip.
D istrict Justice Eugene Ricciardi addressed the indecent incident at the Foxtail Skybar establishment saying, ‘That is an embarrassment. That video went viral across the United States. We have people in Florida that saw that video, what does that say about us?’
Justice Ricciardi has further called for an immediate state emergency. He mentioned that the problematic bars in the area should be shut down with the curfew being reinstated.
Furthermore, local cops are now closely patrolling local bars. The law officials are posted near the establishments where there have been issues in the past.
Meanwhile, KDKA News Radio has reported that the bar-goers who were featured in the viral video are as of now banned from the institutions.
