Nicki Minaj has delighted her fans by announcing the rescheduled date for her postponed concert in Manchester, England. The 41-year-old rap superstar took to social media on Monday (May 27) to inform her Barbz about the new date for her previously scheduled May 25 show at Manchester’s Co-Op Live, which was canceled following her arrest in Amsterdam on drug-related charges.
“OK guys, I was JUST RE-ADVISED that we actually CAN NOT do any other date for the make up #gagcityMANCHESTER date besides JUNE 3rd,” Nicki Minaj wrote on X (formerly Twitter). She added, “So JUNE 3rd is the new official date for all ticket holders who originally had tickets to the MAY 25th #Manchester show. I apologize for all the inconvenience this has caused. I really hope you can make the #JUNE3rd show. It’ll be really special. Ticketmaster will contact you to advise officially.”
The postponement was a result of Minaj’s arrest in the Netherlands on May 25, just hours before her scheduled performance in Manchester. She was reportedly detained by Amsterdam authorities for allegedly carrying drugs, and the incident forced her to delay the concert, which was part of her Pink Friday 2 Tour. Nicki Minaj was released from police custody after several hours but was unable to proceed with the show as planned.
Promoter Live Nation expressed their regret over the situation in a statement released on the day of the arrest. “Despite Nicki’s best efforts to explore every possible avenue to make tonight’s show happen, the events of today have made it impossible,” the statement read. “We are deeply disappointed by the inconvenience this has caused.”
Following her release, Minaj kept her fans updated via social media. On Saturday night, she posted on X, “We will have another date for tonight’s show shortly & I’ll probably be able to share it tmrw. One July option & one June option is currently being discussed. I’ll find a way to not only make up the date with the performance but I’m going to create an added bonus for everyone that had a tkt for this show. Promise.”
Nicki Minaj also made an effort to connect with her fans in Manchester despite the cancellation. She invited her local followers to visit her at her hotel, sharing her location and welcoming them to stop by and say hello. “Barbz, I’m going on the balcony so if you’re outside I’ll be able to see you & I may come downstairs,” she wrote. “I’ll be out there for about an hour. Rlly wanted to at least get to see you. But if you’re in bed plz STAY THERE.”
Fans can see Minaj’s announcement about the rescheduled Manchester concert on her X profile. As excitement builds for the new date, it’s clear that Minaj is committed to making it a memorable event for all her fans.
