New video surfaces of Todd Downing’s last year DUI arrest

In a recent video, Former Titans offensive coordinator Todd Downing is seen admitting that he drank alcohol before his DUI arrest last year.

TMZ Sports recently obtained a new police video of the time when Todd Downing was arrested for DUI last year.

For the unversed, Downing was taken into custody for driving under the influence and speeding near Nashville on 18th November 2022.

Moreover, it came just hours after he helped the Tennessee Titans to defeat the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field.

Meanwhile, in the body cam footage, we can see a Tennessee Highway Patrol officer questioning the 42-year-old.

However, the coach explains that he went over the speeding limit because he ‘got a death threat tonight’ and wants to rush home to his family.

Besides that, Downing initially said that he had not been drinking after the officer asked him about the alcohol smell coming from his car. 

But he later changed the story and said, ‘I had a victory beer in Green Bay.’

Downing was eventually arrested for DUI after he failed several sobriety tests.

Additionally, Downing called a member of the Tennessee organization when he was forced to sit in the back of a squad car. He went on to inform the person about  the incident

He can be heard saying, ‘Hey, man, I was rushing home and I got arrested for DUI. I was panicking because I was scared about my family — and I had a victory beer.’

New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh confirmed recently that Todd Downing is selected to be the ‘main voice’ in the team’s quarterbacks room this season.

Saleh made the announcement while he was in Indianapolis for the NFL Combine. Subsequently, he talked highly about his new passing-game coordinator.

He said, ‘Todd Downing, bringing him also from Tennessee. His experience with quarterbacks, he was with (Matthew) Stafford in the early years of his career.’

In addition, he continued, ‘He was with Derek Carr at the early years of his career and obviously with (Ryan) Tannehill during Tannehill’s resurrection, if you will.’

Saleh added, ‘He comes with a wealth of knowledge of quarterback play, so he’ll be kind of a God rest his soul, that Knapper (Greg Knapp) role in terms of running the quarterback room and being the main voice in that regard.’
