Kyle Rittenhouse is facing trials and homicide charges for the shooting incident at Kenosha, that happened last year. In the trial, on 15th November, Monday, his defense Mark Richards stated Kyle did it in self-defense. Let us meet Mark Richards!
Who is Mark Richards?
Mark Richards, 59-year-old, is a veteran criminal defense lawyer since 1987. Mark is a Wisconsin native. He has worked in this industry for 34 years. He was a sole practitioner from 1990-1994. First, he has worked as a prosecutor in the Kenosha Country District Attorney’s office. Then later in Racine. As per the reports, from small to big clients, he has tried over 100 jury trials. Mark Richards believes that no case is too small or too big. He was part of Kyle’s legal team last year and now he is the defense attorney.
He completed his education at the University of Wisconsin Law School. Currently, Richards is associated with Richards & Dimmer, S.C as an ally. According to reports, Mark Richards deals with cases of sexual assault, drug charges, homicide charges, burglary and theft, domestic violence, and a white-collar crime.
What Did Defence Attorney Said?
Kyle and his attorney both argue that the act was in self-defense when he shot two people and injured one. Last week, Kyle testified and took a stand that he feared for his life.
The defense attorney said that those shots were done to protect his own life from dangerous rioters. Mark attacked the prosecution as well as they are in a premature rush to judgment. He said that it’s the question of his client’s life and not a game that can be played fast without facts. He also presented some pictures and videos where the attack on Kyle is visible.
In the end, Mark Richards concluded that it is a political case but the prosecution is going fast forward as they need somebody to be held responsible. As per the reports, he also said, the prosecutions need somebody to accept it forcefully. That individual is not Kyle Rittenhouse who brought terror to Kenosha.
What Did Jury Say?
According to the reports, the jury will start the proceeding on Tuesday morning, 16th November. The judge of the case Judge Bruce Schroeder reduced the number of the jury. The jury was of 18 members and is now reduced to 12. Kyle Rittenhouse has five charges on him. The jury may consider lesser charges related to the shooting of Huber and Grosskreutz. The judge dismissed the sixth charge on Monday. The jury will follow a process to weigh all the proofs before casting votes. What do you think? Will Kyle Rittenhouse be guilty or not?
