American congressman Madison Cawthorn has responded to the circulating rumors about him. He addressed the issue following a suggestive clip of him was published by an opposition party.

As per CNN reports, the video showcases the politician ‘naked in bed’ with his cousin. After the clip was released it quickly became a hot topic on many social media platforms over the week.

Consequently, the 26-year-old was slammed by users online and received tons of backlash from the citizens. He recently took to his Twitter handle to handle the drama. He also responded to it in the hopes of debunking the ‘lies’ that have been written about him.

Madison Cawthorn shared a post on Wednesday 4th May on his official Twitter account. He addressed the viral topic of the cousin footage as well as other ‘media lies’.

Cawthorn shared a seven-minute-long video clip on Twitter alongside a lengthy caption.

He wrote, ‘I’m ready to keep fighting for you. I wanted you to know the truth, straight from me. Don’t lose hope, don’t listen to the fake news’.

The congressman further continued by saying, ‘Don’t let the swamp of Washington dissuade or distract you from sending a warrior back to Washington. I’ve only just begun to fight for you’.

Madison Cawthorn opened his statement by telling his followers that many of us are already aware of the ‘outlandish stuff’ the media outlets are reporting about him over the past few weeks.

The republican further pointed out that it was a ‘coordinated attack’ against him by the opposition group. He responded that he wants to ‘fight back’ in the hopes of erasing some of their ‘lies’.

The North Carolina politician addressed the suggestive video that is flooding all over social media networks claiming that it was a ‘childish video’. He mentioned that both he and his cousin were aware of it and filmed it for fun.

The young congressman continued that the clip was shot long before he started serving in congress. 

He added that his cousin, Stephen, is his family and best friend. The clip remains as ‘stupid locker room talk between two cousins that grew up like brothers,’ he said.

He called out The Daily Mail for not checking the obvious fact before publishing the article that was filled with ‘misinformation’.
