It appears like Kyrie Irving is talking to a new shoe company about a potential deal after parting ways with Nike.

Here is everything you need to know.

Kyrie Irving is partnering up with a new shoe company

TMZ Sports recently caught up with Musiq Soulchild in Los Angeles where he revealed that Kyrie Irving might be teaming up with a new sneaker partner.

Moreover, the B.U.D.D.Y. singer claimed that he got the scoop about the Nets superstar while buying a pair of kicks at SIA Collective.

In addition, Musiq, whose real name is Taalib Hassan Johnson, mentioned that the owners of the company have spoken about a possible future collaboration with Irving.

Meanwhile, Musiq went on and on about his new SIA shoes that he was sporting while saying, ‘I think that will be an awesome decision.’

Musiq added that he is not sure whether Irving and SIA will eventually end up teaming. However, he said that he continues to remain hopeful that it all goes through.

Besides that, SIA stands for Somewhere In America and is run by Delvin Carter, a black-business owner.

Additionally, the company is based in Oakland, California, and has more than 400,000 ‘supporters’, as Carter prefers to call them, on social media.

Nike removes Kyrie Irving

Nike announced in early December that they are terminating their contract with Kyrie Irving.

A spokesperson for the company issued a statement to ESPN, ‘Kyrie is no longer a Nike athlete.’

While the company failed to speak more on it, Irving’s agent, Shetellia Riley Irving revealed that it was a mutual decision.

She said while talking with CNBC, ‘We have mutually decided to part ways and wish Nike the best in their future endeavors.’

Meanwhile, the termination comes after Nike reported that they will not release Irving’s latest shoe Kyrie 8.

Irving on the other hand responded to the news by sharing a video on Twitter that seemingly referred to his severed contract with Nike.

The text on the video read, ‘There’s nothing more priceless than being free.’

If you didn’t know, Irving was suspended for sharing a link to a seemingly controversial and antisemitic film.

Phil Knight, a co-founder of Nike, addressed the matter during an interview with CNBC on 10th November.

He said, ‘Kyrie stepped over the line. It’s kind of that simple.’

In addition, Knight mentioned, ‘He made some statements that we just can’t abide by. That’s why we ended the relationship. I was fine with that.’
