Kylie Jenner has found herself in hot waters once again after sharing images of her brand’s collection. The internet was intrigued by one of her liquid lipsticks from her collection. Surprisingly, there is a striking resemblance between the liquid lipstick from Trixie Cosmetics and this product. As a result, Trixie Mattel was not happy with Kylie Jenner.
Kylie Jenner’s Exclusive Valentine’s Day Collection
Kylie Jenner, the star of the KUWTK show is the owner of the brand Kylie Cosmetics. They are introducing their brand new collection exclusively for Valentine’s Day. The collection includes a pressed powder palette, false lashes, matte lip kit, lip gloss set, blush stick, highlighter, and lip balm set. Love-inspired hues in shades of red and pink, heart-shaped packaging, and heart-shaped designs are the highlights of the collection.
The collection is scheduled to drop on February 3, 2022, at 3 p.m. PST on the brand’s official website.
The controversy
The product that led to this controversy was liquid lipstick. The lipstick comes in a heart-shaped tube with a red cap. However, several fans reported that it was extremely similar to the liquid lipstick from Trixie Cosmetics.
Trixie Cosmetics is the cosmetics brand of the American drag queen, Trixie Mattel. She launched her brand in May 2019. Consequently, on learning about the same, she called out Kylie Jenner. She accused Kylie of copying one of her products and stealing the packaging concept.
Trixie Mattel Addresses The Controversy
Trixie Mattel joked about calling the police in a recent TikTok video addressed to Kylie Jenner. Kylie posted a sneak peek of her collection on January 26, 2022. Moreover, the similarity between the lipstick and the one Kylie Jenner posted prompted fans to let Trixie know. In addition, Trixie Mattel shared a video of herself on Twitter wherein she applies her heart-shaped lipstick over a screenshot of Kylie Jenner’s collection. The caption said, “Breaking my silence and addressing the situation.”
It seems as if Trixie’s fans are not happy with the controversy as well. Many of them have taken to Twitter to accuse Kylie of copying Trixie Mattel’s products. Moreover, some even came up with the proposal to sue Kylie’s company for the same.
However, the Jenner-Kardashian family has a history of stealing designs. There have been similar controversies in the past as well. In 2017, people accused Kylie Jenner and Khloe Kardashian of stealing designs from struggling Black designers. In other words, they made profits at the expense of Black designers who weren’t established yet.
