Kanye West, who was due to be a headliner at the Rolling Loud in the next few days, has suddenly dropped out of the festival.

Here is everything you need to know.

Why did Kanye West pull out from Miami’s Rolling Loud?

Rolling Loud took to Twitter to break the news of Kanye West’s exit from the headlining set of the music festival.

They wrote, ‘Due to circumstances outside of our control, Ye will no longer be performing at Rolling Loud Miami 2022.’

The official account further announced that rapper Kid Cudi will now be replacing the 45-year-old fashion mogul at the upcoming event.

Moreover, West’s – who now goes by Ye – departure comes only five days ahead of the music festival.

Tariq Cherif and Matt Zingler, the co-founders of Rolling Loud released a statement to explain the reason for the Donda rapper’s abrupt exit.

They said, ‘We were looking forward to Ye headlining Rolling Loud Miami 2022. We spent months working with him and his team on the performance. Unfortunately, Ye has decided that he will no longer be performing.’

The duo continued, ‘This is the first time a headliner has ever pulled off our show and though we don’t take it lightly, we wish him the best. We look forward to welcoming Kid Cudi as a headliner in Miami and we can’t wait to see what he has in store.’

Kanye West and Kid Cudi’s relationship

Fans were surprised when Rolling Loud announced Kid Cudi as Kanye West’s replacement at the music festival.

Ye and Kid Cudi share an extensive history in both professional as well as personal life.

If you didn’t know, the entrepreneur helped Cudi launch his career as a producer when he signed him on his Good Music label in 2008.

Furthermore, Cudi went on to release his first three studio albums under Ye’s label before he announced his exit in 2013. Regardless, the 38-year-old musician continued to claim that he was still on good terms with Ye.

In addition, the duo joined forces to release a self-titled collaborative record titled Kids See Ghosts in 2018.

However, Cudi’s and Ye’s friendship took a rough patch earlier this year in April 2022.

West was reportedly not impressed with Cudi’s friendship with Pete Davidson, who is in a relationship with Ye’s ex-wife Kim Kardashian.

In a now-deleted tweet, the hip-hop artist pointed out, ‘Just so everyone knows, [Kid] Cudi will not be on Donda 2′ because he’s friends with you know who.’
