Brian had a remarkable career. He hosted various shows and segments for different shows. The network announced in November that Brian would be leaving with a heartfelt statement.
Why Is Brian Williams Leaving Msnbc?
Brian is departing from the network this month. He will host his last episode of The 11th Hour on 9th December, Thursday.
Brian announced his departure on 9th November 2021. He also said that he wished to spend time with his family and dear ones.
In a statement, Brian said that this was the end of a chapter and the beginning of another.
He further said that for the next few months he would be with his family, whom he loves the most and who helped him with his career. He said he would reflect on the kindness people showed him and pay it forward.
Though Brian did not clearly reveal the reason behind him leaving MSNBC. Although a source told Variety that Brian left because it was his own will. The source further said that Brian has the feeling that he has achieved all he could in his long career at MSNBC.
The source also said that Brian wanted to take a break.
According to Variety, the source said that Brian did not want to keep doing the same job just because he had to do it. Brian realized he had a choice to walk away while he was still on the top of his game.
Though Brian, in a statement gave hope to his fans. He said that there were many things he wanted to do and so he will pop up again somewhere.
As of now, it is not clear if Brian is going to take up another high-profile job or start off something of his own.
Host Of The News Announces Departure In Heartfelt Statement
Remembering his time at the network Brian said that 28 years, 38 countries, 8 Olympic Games, 7 presidential elections, half a dozen presidents, few wars, and one SNL. Good friends were in a great supply on NBC.
While praising the company and their work culture, Brian added that he felt fortunate because everyone he worked with made him better at his job. He said he has had the best colleagues he could ever imagine. He added that it also added great bosses.
Brian also reminisced the origin of his hit show The 11th Hour. He had started this show in 2016.
He revealed that he wanted it to be called The 11th Hour as it was late in the 2016 campaign back then. He also wanted it to air at 11 PM Eastern Time.
Future Of ‘The 11th Hour’ Show
The future of the hit show MSNBC is still not clear. However, Brian did reveal a little about how the show will look after his departure.
Brian said that the show would still remain in good hands and produced by the best team in cable news. He also talked a little about the other journalists who were part of the show.
Whilst praising the hit show, Brian added that The 11th Hour is way bigger than any man or woman could imagine. He said that the truth was that their secret was always about their guests and that would never change.
Therefore the fans can relax and be sure that the show will go on. Hopefully, the show will thrive even in the absence of Brian.
