During a terrible accident in January, Renner was crushed by his own snowplow. The tragedy took place as Jeremy Renner was using the snowplow after a brutal winter snowstorm. He was injured after he attempted to stop the seven-ton PistenBully snowcat from hitting his nephew in Lake Tahoe before it crushed his leg. A selfie he uploaded from the hospital showed severe facial bruises that he had received after being taken to the hospital by helicopter. Additionally, he shared a glimpse of his electric stimulation workout that month. His reunion with the snowplow that broke 30 bones in his body was even shared earlier this month by the ‘Hawkeye’ star.

It was Robert Whalen who invented the anti-gravity treadmill in 1990. He saw astronauts on the International Space Station exercising for several hours to avoid losing bone mass and muscle mass in microgravity, which led him to think of the treadmill as a biomechanics researcher at NASA Ames Research Center. ISS treadmills required users to wear straps around their shoulders and hips, which made them uncomfortable. As a result of Whalen’s design, astronauts were able to run naturally on the treadmill. An airtight chamber encloses the astronaut’s lower body, lowering the air pressure in the chamber that simulates gravity, pushing the astronaut down. In 1992, the design was patented. Eventually, a company called AlterG licensed the idea and used it to help rehab patients recovering from leg and foot injuries. It requires wearing tight neoprene shorts with a skirt lined with zipper teeth attached. Through the hole in the plastic casing, the person enters the treadmill, where they zip themselves inside an airtight plastic bag from the waist down. During the workout, the treadmill measures weight and asks how the workout should be done. Physical rehabilitation clinics use it to help patients exercise without aggravating their injuries.
