Evan Peters is criticized for winning Golden Globe for Jeffrey Dahmer’s performance

Shirley, the mother of Dahmer victim Tony Hughes, gave an interview to TMZ where she spoke her thoughts about Evan Peters winning a Golden Globe for his performance as Jeffrey Dahmer.

She claimed that Peters should have mentioned the names of the families who are still suffering from the crimes of Dahmer in his acceptance speech.

Moreover, she said that he should have used the platform to ask Hollywood to stop using stories about killers and glorifying them.

In addition, Shirley claimed that nothing good would come from Peters winning an award for the Netflix series.

She noted that his win will only add grief to the families of the people Dahmer killed since it replays the tragedy over and over.

Additionally, she said, ‘There’s a lot of sick people around the world, and people winning acting roles from playing killers keeps the obsession going and this makes sick people thrive on fame.’

Furthermore, she pointed out that Peters should have accepted the role in the first place in response to a statement during his acceptance speech.

Shirley continued, ‘It’s a shame that people can take our tragedy and make money. The victims never saw a cent. We go through these emotions every day.’
