Jeffrey Dahmer’s prosecutor discusses Netflix’s new series

Netflix’s new series, ‘Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story’ is generating tons of buzz from viewers all across the globe.

However, it appears like Former Milwaukee D.A. Michael McCann is not impressed with the show. For the unversed, McCann personally prosecuted Jeffrey Dahmer in the 90s.

He recently sat down for an interview with TMZ where he shared his thoughts on Netflix’s latest true crime drama.

During the interview, McCann noted that the characterization of the Milwaukee Police Department in the series is ludicrous. He was referring to the show’s depiction of cops ignoring the obvious clues because the case included gay and/or Black people.

Furthermore, McCann admitted that he has not yet watched the series. However, he suspects that the streaming platform will most likely portray the show as anti-cop.

Jeffrey Dahmer’s prosecutor denies homophobic bias from police

During the interview, Michael McCann denied the characterization of the police officials in the Netflix series. He claimed that neither race nor sexual orientation had influenced the police’s decision to investigate Jeffrey Dahmer’s case.

Additionally, McCann mentioned that if the cops would have known about Dahmer’s heinous crimes, they would have instantly taken action to prevent it despite the background of the victims.

He further explained that Dahmer’s motive did not allow the truth to be revealed any sooner. Moreover, he added that Dahmer covered his tracks well and did not leave much evidence for the cops to suspect him.

How did Jeffery Dahmer get caught?

In July 1991, Jeffery Dahmer met 32-year-old Tracy Edwards at a local pub in Milwaukee. He invited him to his apartment by insisting that Tracy should model some of the pictures.

However, the foul smell at Dahmer’s apartment raised red flags in Tracy’s head. Subsequently, he somehow managed to escape the place.

Fortunately, Tracy was able to get hold of two policemen and relayed the story to them. Moreover, the cops accompanied him to Dahmer’s apartment.

Upon investigation, they found disturbing polaroids of his dismembered human bodies. Hence, Dahmer was immediately taken into custody.

Later, he confessed to killing 17 men and boys. Dahmer received 16 life sentences for rape, murder, dismemberment, and cannibalism.
