After two years of marriage, Jeannie Mai and Jeezy are splitting. The 45-year-old rapper, born Jay Wayne Jenkins, filed for divorce in Georgia’s Superior Court of Fulton County on Thursday. According to the filing, “the marriage of the parties is irretrievably destroyed” and “there is no possibility of reconciliation.” According to the divorce papers, Jeezy is seeking shared legal custody of their daughter, who was born in January 2022. According to the complaint, the couple had a prenuptial agreement, which he hopes to be implemented. Mai, the former “The Real” talk show host, and rapper Jeezy married privately in 2021, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. They got engaged a year ago while quarantining.

“Jeezy’s mother’s unexpected death made us realize that life is too short.” After all, Jeezy and I only wanted to get married,” Mai told Vogue in the days leading up to the ceremony. In order to celebrate our original marriage, we planned a mini-mony. “We had planned on having all of our family and friends there,” Mai said, but COVID forced us to reschedule everything.” Her wedding gown was a nude-coloured Galia Lahav with a matching veil of 15 feet. Jeezy, born Jay Wayne Jenkins, donned a Teofilo Flor champagne blush tuxedo. Joe Jonas & Sophie Turner, Britney Spears and Sam Asghari, and Sofia Vergara and Joe Mangianello, amongst others, have just filed for divorce.

After Two Years Of Marriage, Rapper Jeezy Files For Divorce From Jeannie Mai

It’s the end of the road for Jeannie Mai Jenkins & Jeezy. According to records acquired by NBC News, the rapper filed for divorce from The Real co-host on September 14 after nearly two and a half years of marriage. According to the declaration, Jeezy and Jeannie are “at present living in a bona fide state of separation” indicating that their marriage is “irretrievably ruined” with “no chance of reconciliation.” The couple is also seeking joint legal and physical custody of Monaco, their 20-month-old daughter. Jeezy, 45, and Jeannie, 44, began dating in November 2018, a year after she announced her divorce from ex-husband Freddy Harteis. She had previously described their first date. “We enjoyed a romantic sushi dinner in Los Angeles along with salsa danced the night away,” the Hello Hunnay host said in 2021 to Vogue. “It was later that night when he asked if I could imagine living with him for the rest of my life. Jeannie and Jeezy didn’t make their romance Instagram official until 2019. The couple, who met when he was a guest on The Real years prior to they started dating, got engaged in March 2020 and married one year later.

Jeannie subsequently told Women’s Health that she and Jeezy found out they were expecting a kid just a month before their wedding. However, she miscarried shortly after. According to the publication, Jeannie discovered she was pregnant again approximately a week after the wedding, with Monaco due in January 2022. Jeannie has previously stated that she did not always intend to have children. However, after falling in love with Jeezy, who was already a father through previous relationships, she realised she wanted to expand their family.”Jeezy made me realise that I’ve never really felt secure in my life, you know?” On a 2021 edition of The Real, Jeannie commented. “I’ve never felt genuinely safe. And, of course, that has something to do with events from my youth. But once you know what it’s like to feel unsafe, that becomes your universe.” “And falling in love with Jeezy, discovering someone who also wasn’t feeling safe in their life, we really began to build a place where our happiness spelt out what secure looked like around us,” she continued. So, as soon as you feel comfortable and secure in a healthy relationship, you begin to get visions and dreams. And for each of us, it would mean becoming parents and having children at the same time.”
