How did Jaxxyn Wood die?

Jaxxyn Wood, the diver
Jefferson County coroner’s office’s identified Jaxxyn Wood’s body. He was a 19-year-old diver of Owensboro, Kentucky. John Anderson, a former swim coach from Danville had coached him for six years. He knew Jaxxyn Wood since he was four, and it was hard for him to face the reality. In Danville, where Wood grew up, Anderson met Wood and his family years earlier while working as a lifeguard. Years later, Anderson had the opportunity to coach Wood; he did so when he was in seventh grade.
Wood had always loved being in the water. Hence it was no surprise to Anderson when Wood became a commercial diver after finishing high school. Wood worked for Bulldog Diving at the time of the accident.
Jaxxyn Wood – cause of death
Around 12:30 Thursday afternoon, he lost contact with his colleague at the shore of LG&E’s Mill Creek Generating Station in Louisville. He was inspecting one of the intakes and screens there. The Emergency Response Team at LG&E, Louisville Fire and Rescue, Louisville EMS, and other crews searched for Wood. He was nowhere to be found. They found him almost nine hours later around 9:15 p.m.
The cause of Wood’s death was drowning, according to a coroner’s report. Jaxxyn Wood drowned in the Ohio River while checking pipelines, according to authorities. He died at 1:02 p.m., according to forensic reports. Currently, it is unclear how he drowned and why he lost contact with the worker on the shore. The investigators are actively looking into the circumstances surrounding his death.
