In the aftermath of a chaotic TwitchCon San Diego event, controversial IRL streamer Ice Poseidon has publicly refuted claims that he paid Kick streamers to harass Twitch content creators. The claims surfaced after multiple Kick personalities were banned following the event due to disruptive behavior, sparking debate within the online streaming community.
The situation unfolded over the weekend when several Kick streamers were accused of engaging in aggressive and inappropriate behavior toward Twitch streamers during the convention. This led Ed Craven, co-founder of Kick, to take swift action by banning several streamers involved in the incidents. The controversy ignited when footage and reports of harassment, including a fistfight and inappropriate physical contact, spread across social media, turning the spotlight on the streamers’ conduct.
Among the accusations, one rumor stood out: the allegation that Ice Poseidon had orchestrated the harassment by paying Kick streamers to target Twitch influencers. These claims gained traction on the subreddit r/LivestreamFail, where a viral clip from Twitch streamer JuliaKins suggested that Poseidon, referred to mockingly as “Ice Pu**y,” had paid individuals to harass others at the event. JuliaKins’ remarks fueled speculation, linking Poseidon to the harassment.
In response, Ice Poseidon took to social media platform X on September 24, 2024, to address the situation. He firmly denied the allegations, stating, “Dear LSF community, I did not pay anyone to harass Twitch streamers.” While refuting the more severe claims, Poseidon did admit to paying for trolling behavior. Specifically, he mentioned gifting 50 subscribers as part of a joke targeting fellow Kick streamer Sam Bond.
His full statement read: “I paid 50 subs to troll Sam Bond cuz he’s annoying and for someone to recommend Moises to OTK as waterboy. If you’re gonna slander me, at least make it funny. Now don’t mind me, time to take the Lambo for a ride.”
The denial from Poseidon comes amid growing concerns about the actions of certain Kick streamers at TwitchCon. The most egregious incidents involved one streamer who forcefully kissed and licked Twitch personalities Nmplol and Wake Wilder, actions that were widely condemned as “live-streamed sexual harassment.” In another disturbing episode, a Kick streamer allegedly pushed a Twitch broadcaster into a moving train.
Although Ice Poseidon has distanced himself from the most severe accusations, the scandal has left a lasting impression on the streaming community. Some prominent figures, such as xQc, have called for more stringent consequences for bad behavior at live events, warning that incidents like these could tarnish Kick’s reputation. YouTube star Ludwig echoed similar concerns, questioning whether the platform’s image is being damaged by streamers involved in such controversies.
As the TwitchCon fallout continues, Kick’s response to these incidents will likely shape its standing in the broader streaming world. For now, Ice Poseidon remains a central figure in the debate, even as he denies his involvement in any harassment schemes.
