4 min readA video interview with social media personality Hotep Jesus, who recently sparked outrage for his racist comments, was published following Scott Adams’ racist controversy. The creator of Dilbert landed in hot water last week when he made some racially questionable remarks while discussing a Is it Ok to be White? conducted a poll on his Real Coffee with Scott Adams YouTube show by Rasmussen Reports. It was noted on the show that 53 per cent of African-Americans agreed with the phrase “It’s OK to be white” and those who disagreed were highlighted. In addition, Adams said he identified as Black because he wants to be on the team that wins, before revealing that nearly half of the team is against me being white.
This is the absolute truth what @ScottAdamsSays is saying here. He had to have known that all the coward newspapers would drop his Dilbert comic strip. I admire Scott Adams for doing it anyway. pic.twitter.com/sy0vhHutV2

Moreover, the cartoonist stated that he would “re-identify as white” since he did not want to belong to a hate group. Adams urged Caucasians not to interact with African-Americans: I would advise white people, given the way things are going right now, to stay away from Black people as much as possible. I just want you to get the f*** away. Don’t worry about where you have to go, just get away. Since there’s no fixing this. This can’t be fixed. The remarks started prompt backlash via social media, with many cancelling Scott Adams for his questionable and controversial opinion. Days after the fact, the cartoonist showed up on Hotep Jesus’ show and examined a few focuses from his statement.
We made the news.

Hotep Jesus: Who Is He? Dilbert Creator Scott Adams’ Podcast Interview Divides The Internet
Media personality, performer, marketer, and author Hotep Jesus is African-American. He was born in Brooklyn, New York, on October 1, 1980. Originally named Bryan Sharpe, he took on his stage name after an alleged heckler asked him if he was some kind of Hotep Jesus. A viral tweet made him famous in the early days of his career on Twitter. A marketing job was offered to Hotep by 50 Cent’s manager Chris Lighty in 2011. He also helped launch a coconut water sports drink for NBA superstar Carmelo Anthony shortly after he had a “spiritual awakening” during his involvement with the hip-hop industry. Known for his conspiracy theories and debatable views, the marketer continued to garner online attention. There were several theories that he advanced, including the myth that the slave trade across the Atlantic was a myth, the theory that Carthaginian General Hannibal was an African, and the theory that Rome used to depend on America for food. Eventually, Hotep Jesus led the Hotep movement and was associated with the Hotep Nation. His views on African-American history were featured on Joe Rogan’s podcast in 2019. Additionally, his YouTube videos have gained him popularity and he currently has over 81K subscribers.
In a podcast interview with Hotep Jesus, Scott Adams discussed a few statements that have landed him in hot water. His racial identity was the first topic of discussion, and he joked about identifying as a Caucasian while being an African-American. Afterwards, Adams explained that his identity actually came from working tirelessly on matters that would benefit the Black community. He also shared that he was a left-winger, as opposed to theories that he was a right-winger, and he had worked for Black Lives Matter (BLM) before. Furthermore, Adams claimed there was a money grift involved in BLM and that the organization isn’t legitimate. The comments Adams made about African-Americans based on a Rasmussen Report poll that asked “is it ok to be white” have continued to make headlines. Despite the backlash, the cartoonist participated in a podcast interview with Hotep Jesus to explain his statement, discuss his stance, and address other sensitive issues. Social media users were divided after the interview went viral. Social media users additionally took to Twitter to share their responses to the interview.
The interview between Hotep Jesus and Scott Adams expanded the discussion. The mainstream media can't allow that as there is way too much benefit in keeping us divided. https://t.co/oaxrGAc3KC

“Adams did an interview with Hotep Jesus, a heterodox black podcaster-slash-influencer, explaining his comments in detail. Anyone who listens to both sources (Adam’s podcast plus the Hotep Jesus interview)cannot possibly conclude that Scott Adams is any kind of rabid racist.”

Scott Adams is 100% correct. White people have nothing to gain by trying to live with or help black people. I say this as a mixed person (Hispanic/Asian) myself. I prefer to live in a white neighborhood. I don't want diversity. pic.twitter.com/W6etD3LTiQ

So do broad sweeping generalizations. CNN, FoxNews and MSNBC are hard to watch. I will give you that. On local levels our mission is to do the exact opposite of what you are saying. I think the mainstream media vs. #localJournalism distinction is important.

More people need to talk about the abuses CRT has lead too, because it’s creating segregation and unease against western black culture. What Scott Adams said isn’t new, he’s just the first person of any celebrity to say it. Many have been feeling this way for years.
