Why Grimes’s son does not call her mom-
Grimes thinks that giving birth to a child means giving new birth to herself. She feels that Mother’s word is weird to listen and she didn’t like it. She doesn’t identify herself with that word. Her child calls her by her name ‘Claire’. Also, she feels that her child feels distaste from the word “Mom”.
In one of her interviews with The New York Times, she says that when one has a baby and we have to make him/ her sleep. One should do it with some sound so that it becomes a habit of a child sleeping with a sound. She felt it was a good idea. Further added by her that she doesn’t want her first introduction to the world to be total crap. She doesn’t want to insult any baby. It’s just a vibe for her. She just feels it to be getting out. It is like different pastel color tones energy.
