George Floyd’s brother, Philonise Floyd is backing off from taking legal action against Kanye West, at least for now.

Philonise Floyd’s attorney explains why he has hit a pause on Kanye West’s lawsuit

Philonise Floyd, George Floyd’s brother is reportedly being represented by civil rights attorney Lee Merritt for his case against Kanye West.

However, recently it is reported that he is temporarily standing down on his original threat of suing the 45-year-old rap star, Candace Owens and others.

If you didn’t know, West who now goes by the name and others made remarks about George Floyd’s death in a recent episode of the Drink Champs podcast.

According to reports, Floyd is calling off the case since he only wanted Ye to stop repeating false narratives about his brother’s death.

Merritt on the other hand mentioned that the controversial episode has been removed. In addition, the podcast host, N.O.R.E., has issued an apology for letting the Donda hitmaker talk without pushback.

Moreover, reports claim that Floyd believes that West has complied with most of the demands filed in the cease and desist letter which was sent on behalf of Gianna, daughter of George Floyd.

Meanwhile, we are uncertain about whether Gianna’s lawyers will move forward with their  $250 million lawsuit against West.

Kanye West talks about George Floyd’s death

Kanye West spoke about George Floyd’s death in a recent episode of the Drink Champs podcast. 

The father of four discussed Candace Owens’s new documentary The Greatest Lie Ever Sold: George Floyd and the Rise of BLM.

He said, ‘I watched the George Floyd documentary that Candace Owens put out. One of the things that his two roommates said was they want a tall guy like me. The day that he died, he said a prayer for eight minutes.’

Additionally, he stated, ‘They hit [Floyd] with the fentanyl. If you look, the guy’s knee wasn’t even on his neck like that.’

N.O.R.E issues an apology

Host N.O.R.E sat down with Hot 97’s Ebro in the Morning where he apologized for letting Kanye West speak freely.

He said, ‘I’m sorry. I can sit there and say, ‘That’s only Kanye West. It’s only what he said.’ But I have a responsibility when I have an audience. When I watched myself, I was embarrassed.’
