Nigerian actress Genevieve Nnaji has returned to Instagram with a video clip after recently deleting all of her Instagram postings. Nnaji posted a video of herself painting on a canvas on May 11 to delicately address allegations about her purported mental condition.

The video has since been deleted or made private. This could be a reference to recent accusations in the local media concerning her claimed mental illness hospitalization.

According to rumors, the actress was admitted to a hospital in the United States. Nnaji deleted her Instagram posts after the rumor became viral. Her sudden absence alarmed her 8.5 million Twitter followers.

The rumor about Genevieve Nnaji’s mental illness

After entertainment blogger Stella Dimokokorkus published the news on Instagram, initial rumours of the 43-year-old Nigerian suffering from mental illness spread. The blogger claimed on Tuesday, May 10, that Genevieve Nnaji was suffering from mental illness.

“I have been in the know of the medical condition that she is going through but decided to let it go untill [sic] she’s better.”

She later changed the caption and blamed a US-based nurse for reportedly leaking information regarding Nnaji’s sickness, as well as the notion that she had used medications, which caused the scenario.

In the wake of the mental illness rumours, Emeka Rollas, the National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, told the News Agency of Nigeria that he would be reaching out to Genevieve Nnaji.

Nnaji’s May 11 video, therefore, played a crucial role in reassuring fans that the Lionheart (2018) actress was in good health. The video showed her painting, an intellectual activity that has been shown to improve cognitive skills and memory development. According to the National Center for Creative Aging’s (NCCA) Research Center for Arts and Culture (RCAC), artists are often less melancholy than the general public.

However, as several followers have pointed out, the video may not be recent. In that situation, we still have no idea how Nnaji is doing.

When Genevieve Nnaji erased her Instagram posts, her fans were concerned

Following the actress’ decision to erase all of her Instagram posts, a slew of her followers flocked to social media to express their displeasure amid reports of mental illness. Several tweets expressed concern for her well-being, while others expressed surprise at the rumors.

Genevieve Nnaji, according to one user, has deleted all of her Instagram postings and unfollowed everyone. This is extraordinary. Someone should look after her. Nobody is immune to mental illness.

Another said Genevieve Nnaji deletes all of her Instagram photographs and videos, according to another user. I hope she’s doing well and that everything is fine with her. All of her memories were destroyed throughout the years, as were posts of some of her milestones and triumphs on social media.

Another person stated that it couldn’t be real when I described the health difficulties. I’ve read several things that I believed in but later realized were bogus, so I’m not quick to draw conclusions.

As of right now, no verified news has validated the rumors about the actress. As a result, it’s unclear whether Nnaji is suffering from any mental disease.
