Rapper Freddie Gibbs is no stranger to social media drama, and this past weekend was no different. The artist found himself in the middle of a viral internet storm when a photo began circulating online, jokingly suggesting that Gibbs was a gay man. The image featured a social media influencer announcing his engagement to someone who bore a striking resemblance to Gibbs, sparking a flood of humorous reactions and trolling comments. One of the most popular responses, which garnered over 80,000 likes, tagged Gibbs directly, saying, “Congrats @FreddieGibbs.”

Gibbs, known for his quick wit and fiery responses, was not about to let the jokes slide. Upon noticing the post on X (formerly Twitter), the rapper wasted no time in clapping back, writing: “F*ck all yall and everybody that love yall.” His response immediately caught the attention of fans and trolls alike, leading to a cascade of further jokes and jabs at the rapper.

One user, joining in on the fun, poked at Gibbs again in the replies. Not one to hold back, Gibbs fired a sharp reply: “Fck u btch.” Despite the backlash, the jokes kept coming. Another Twitter user joked about Gibbs’ appearance, writing, “Thought it was Freddie Gibbs at first but was like nah they not doing dread transplants in Turkey.” Still, others claimed to have briefly mistaken him for the man in the viral photo, with one fan quipping, “I ain’t gon lie bruh. For a QUICK second…nvm.” Gibbs didn’t miss a beat, retorting with, “No the f*ck you didn’t,” refusing to let any comment go unanswered.

While the trolling over the viral post grabbed headlines, it’s far from the only social media beef Gibbs has found himself entangled in lately. He’s also been engaged in a long-standing feud with fellow rapper Jpegmafia. The two have exchanged barbs online for years, with tensions flaring once again in August when Jpegmafia posted pictures with Gibbs’ ex-girlfriend, Destini. The ongoing feud continues to play out publicly, adding to Gibbs’ list of social media spats.

Despite the online chaos, Freddie Gibbs continues to focus on his music career. Next month, Gibbs is set to perform alongside producer Madlib in celebration of the 10-year anniversary of their critically acclaimed collaborative album Pinata

. The concert, scheduled for October 5th at The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, will also feature performances by El Michels Affair, Saba, and Pink Siifu. Released in 2014, Pinata was a defining moment in Gibbs’ career, debuting at number 39 on the US Billboard 200 and earning widespread praise for its gritty storytelling and raw production.

While Gibbs is often at the center of social media controversies, it’s clear he remains focused on his music and upcoming projects. Fans can expect more sharp comebacks and, undoubtedly, more music as the rapper continues to balance his online persona with his career. Keep an eye out for further updates on Freddie Gibbs as the drama continues to unfold online.
