Former O’jays Member “Frank Little Jr.” Remains Found After 40 Years

Initially, in 1982, Frank Little Jr’s partial remains were found in a trash bag nearly 40 years ago. His remains were identified after one of his close relatives provided his DNA sample.

Who was Frank Little Jr.?

Frank Little Jr. Was born in 1943. He grew up in Cleveland. During the mid-1960s, He was the guitarist as well as a songwriter for the band O’ Jays. He works with the lead vocalist as well as co-founder, Eddie Levert on a handful of songs. A few of the songs are, “ Oh, How You Hurt Me” a 1967s song, “Do the Jerk” a 1964s song, etc.

Eddie Levert, a singer told in an interview with WEWS – TV told that he shifted to California with the group but did not reside on the West Coast. Eddie further mentioned that in the next few years he lost the track of Frank Little Jr. He also stated that the deceased guitarist could have been a great personality in the music industry.

For two years then Frank served in the US Army. Also, he is the father of a daughter who was died in 2012. According to the police, Frank has a son who is still unidentified and had not been located yet.
Margaret O’ Sullivan, cousin of Frank Little Jr. said that the family is clueless about what happened to Frank and where he has been. He is said to be seen alive in the 1970s.

Remains of Frank Identified

Almost after 40 years, the remains of Frank have been identified. The remains of a boy were found in Twinsburg, Ohio. In February 1982, Frank’s remains were found in a garbage bag behind a business in Twinsburg. The circumstances and cause of death are still unknown and said to be undetermined.
When the investigation was reopened of Frank’s remains, Eric Hendershott, a Twinsburg Detective confirmed Frank’s involvement with co-founder Walter Williams in the O’ Jays.

In 2018, Hendershott picked the case up. He started working with a nonprofit, DNA Doe project, that helps identify John and Jane Does with genetic genealogy in the following year.

Frank’s DNA was compared with those in public genealogy databases, which helped them to build a family tree. At that point, the cousin of Frank, Hendershott confirmed about Frank has a brother who is still living in Georgia. Finally, after a DNA sample was obtained from Frank’s brother, his identity was officially known.
